...SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL EXPECTED FRIDAY... .A warm front will approach New England from the southwest today and will stall over southern New England tonight. As it moves northeast...snow will overspread New Hampshire and then western Maine from southwest to northeast during the morning hours today. Snowfall should concentrate in a band generally south of the notches and north of the Manchester/Nashua corridor...into adjacent southwestern Maine. The heaviest snow should fall midday into the early evening before tapering off from the southwest. Precipitation may end as a brief period of sleet or freezing drizzle after midnight over southernmost New Hampshire and extreme southwestern Maine. Another separate system will bring widespread mixed precipitation to the region on Saturday. Very cold surface temperatures combined with warmer air aloft may lead to large area of freezing rain during the day Saturday.
