Subject: Attempted Armed Robbery
On Wednesday December 20th 2017, at approximately 1:53 PM the Sun Prairie Police Department responded to an attempted armed robbery at Target located at 660 S. Grand Ave. in the City of Sun Prairie. A suspect entered the business and provided a note to the cashier indicating he was armed and wanted the money from the register. No one was injured during this incident. No weapons were displayed but one was mentioned. During the investigation we were able to identify a suspect. We contacted him and he turned himself in and was transported to the Dane County jail without incident. At this time there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Tapia-Pineda, Ricardo A. Male Hispanic D.O.B. 09/22/1993 was booked into the Dane County Jail on (1) count of Attempted Armed Robbery.
