On December 14th, 2017 at 11:02p.m., the Sumpter Township Police Department responded to the area of 22000 block of Martinsville for a report of a suspicious situation that occurred in the area of Clark and Judd Roads on the border of Huron and Sumpter Townships. The caller reported that his 22-old-daughter was being followed by two vehicles that were following her, boxing her in, and blocking other vehicles in the area. She stated that the vehicles were following her with hazards on, passing her, boxed her in and slowed down, using turn signals to signal turns but then go a different direction. She stated that one pulled along the passenger side of her vehicle and threw a water bottle at the front passenger window of her car. She quickly accelerated and was able to flee from the suspect vehicles and they quit following her in the area of Judd Rd just East of Clark Rd.

At 11:12p.m., while the Sumpter Township Officers were responding to the initial call, a second call was received in the area of Willow and Haggerty in Sumpter Township, to which the officers responded immediately. The second caller stated that she was southbound on Waltz Rd from South Huron Rd when they observed what they thought was a disabled vehicle and another vehicle
assisting, as both had their hazards on. The vehicles then proceeded to follow, one passed her and box them in, both then passed and blocked the roadway. According to the caller, the suspect vehicle threw an unknown object at her front passenger window. They were finally able to find an area on Willow Rd where they were able to quickly flee from the suspect vehicles and make contact with officers from the Sumpter Township Police Department.
