Single vehicle fatal crash

Sheriff Richard Behnke reports on 12/19/2017 his office was called at approximately 4:44 AM to the area of Mason Street and Union Road and Porter Township Cass County Michigan for the report of a rollover crash. Upon arrival it was found that the driver was deceased. 48 yr old Elkhart resident, Daniel Stanley, lost control of his vehicle on the icy roadways. This caused his vehicle to run off the roadway and over turn. Mr Staley was ejected from his vehicle and died from his injuries. It is not believed that intoxicants had a factor in this. Mr. Staley was not wearing his seatbelt. This case remains under investigation.
