The Simi Valley Police Department will be distributing free M-95 particulate masks at 3901 Alamo Street, in the front parking lot of the police station. This distribution effort is designed to provide the citizens of Simi Valley a free mask to help protect them from smoke particles in the air from the recent fire activity. The Thomas fire is still not a threat to Simi Valley, however there is an expected change in weather conditions later today that may cause some of the smoke from the fire to drift over our City. If this becomes the case, these masks may help those who are sensitive to the smoke conditions. The masks are being provided by the Ventura County Public Health Department. If you desire to obtain a mask, you may stop by the police station today and follow the signs. The masks will be available from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. today or until supplies run out. Simi Valley Police Department Disaster Services Workers will be distributing the masks from a trailer in the front parking lot of 3901 Alamo Street.
