Good Thursday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Wednesday, 12/13/17.

-FM 3261 at Commerce, Levelland: Traffic Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to trucks obstructing traffic. The area was checked and all driveways into private areas were clear.

-6400 blk US 84, Anton: Civil Issue. A deputy responded to a residence in the area related to a reported theft. Complainants advised there was a dispute over property following the death of a family member. After speaking with the complaining parties, as well as a judge, the matter was determined to be civil in nature and referred to the appropriate court for a disposition.

-6400 blk Foster Rd, Ropesville: Alarm. A deputy was dispatched to a residence related to an alarm. The property was checked and was found to be secure.

-1000 blk 1st St, Smyer: Burglary. Deputies responded to assist with a burglary investigation. A federal agency is conducting the primary investigation into the offense. Deputies processed the scene for evidence and all evidence located was turned over to the primary agency. Reports related to the matter are pending.

-200 blk Avenue T, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to assist with a reported disturbance in the area. Levelland PD is handling the case.

-1600 blk McKinley, Levelland: Evading Arrest/Detention. A deputy conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing a violation. The driver fled the stop on foot and the passenger was detained. The area was searched for the driver but he was not located. The driver was identified during the investigation and deputies will follow up with filing the case.

-1400 blk Monaco Rd, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to loose cattle. The cattle were located and secured.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, civil process service, and investigative follow-up activities.

Jail population as of 12/14/17 at 0800 hours: 50 in Hockley County, 8 out of county.
