The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

December 11th

0841 Hours: Officer Pacheco investigated the theft of a rear license plate from a vehicle on the 36600 block of Sycamore Street.

1200 Hours: Officer Horst investigated the theft of a generator from the construction site at 39890 Eureka Drive.

1733 Hours: Officers responded to a multi vehicle injury collision on Wells Avenue at Elm Street. The driver and passenger from one vehicle were transported an area hospital for treatment.

1922 Hours: Officer D. Johnson and Field Training Officer Norvell investigated a vehicle vandalism case on the 6300 block of Jarvis Avenue. An unknown suspect(s) smashed the window of the vehicle. There was no property loss.

1936 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated an auto burglary on the 37000 block of Poplar Street. The loss was a gym bag containing clothing.

2136 Hours: Officer Geser investigated an auto burglary on the 5800 block of Jarvis Avenue. The loss was two laptop computers.

2143 Hours: Officer D. Johnson and Field Training Officer Norvell investigated an auto burglary on the 5900 block of Jarvis Avenue. The loss was a travel bag containing clothing and shoes.

2205 Hours: Officer Jonson and Field Training Officer Norvell investigated an auto burglary on the 35200 block of Newark Boulevard. The loss was a purse with containing the victim’s debt and credit cards.

2217 Hours: Officer Lenz contacted and arrested a 25-year-old male for public intoxication on the 7200 block of Thornton Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

2217 Hours: Officer Cervantes contacted and arrested a 29-year-old Newark female for her outstanding warrants on the 7200 block of Thornton Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.

0052 Hours: Officer Palacio and Field Training Officer Smith investigated a multiple vehicle vandalism case on the 8600 block of Hickory Street.
