Report Number: 17-169769 Location: 1300 block of Calle Crisantemo, Thousand Oaks, Ca Date & Time: 11/6/17 @ 08:10 AM Unit Responsible: Thousand Oaks Police Investigations Bureau, Thousand Oaks Police Special Enforcement Unit (S)uspects, (V)ictims, (P)arty, (D)ecedent City of Residence Age Hahn, Gavin Northrop, Blake Unknown Male Ventura Oxnard Unknown 43 34 40’s Narrative: On November 6, 2017, at about 8:15 am, the Thousand Oaks Police Department responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 1300 block of Calle Crisantemo. The victim reported two unknown suspects entered his home and stole thousands of dollars’ worth of property which included motorcycles and home appliances. The homeowner’s video surveillance system recorded the crime. Surveillance video showed two suspects loading the stolen items into a large U-Haul box truck. Investigators from the Thousand Oaks Police Department contacted several U-Haul rental outlets and were able to identify one of the suspects as 34 year old Blake Northrop. Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned Northrop was staying at a motel in the City of Ventura and was still in possession of the U-Haul truck. On November 7, 2017, investigators located Northrop and the U-Haul at Motel 6 in the 2100 Block of East Harbor Blvd, Ventura. A search warrant was obtained for Northrop’s motel room and with the assistance of the Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit, Northrop was arrested and the search warrant was served. Investigators recovered almost all of the victim’s stolen property as well as a large quantity of methamphetamine and heroin. Northrop was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail for Residential Burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and possession for sales of narcotics. After Northrop’s arrest, detectives obtained a search warrant for his cellular phone and located several text messages from a person identified as Gavin Hahn. From the text message conversation, detectives determined Hanh provided the victims address to Northrop and facilitated the residential burglary. Hahn was identified as a contractor who had recently done work at the victim’s home. Investigators also determined Hahn was not the second suspect depicted in the surveillance video. On December 4, 2017, investigators located Hahn in Port Hueneme, California. Hahn was arrested for violations of Penal Code Section 459 – Burglary and Penal Code Section 182(a)(1) – Conspiracy to commit a crime in addition to two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for separate cases. Detectives have been unable to identify the suspect who was with Northrop during the burglary. The Thousand Oaks Police Department requests the public’s assistance to identify the suspect in the red sweater who is still outstanding.
