Newberry County Coroner’s Office along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating a signal vehicle accident that occurred on December 11, 2017 at approximately 8:30 am at the intersection of South Carolina Highway 121 and McCullaugh Road in the Whitmire area of Newberry County.
According to Coroner Laura Kneece, 58 year old, Mr. Phillip Ryan Jeter of Whitmire was pronounced on scene due to injuries sustained in the motor vehicle collision. An autopsy was performed this morning, concluded that Mr. Jeter sustained multiple blunt force injuries. The manner of death has been ruled an accident.
This incident remains under investigation by Newberry County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
