Arrest Made in Residential Burglary Crew

Campbell, CA - The Campbell Police Department has made an arrest related to two residential burglaries.

On Monday, October 30, 2017, at approximately 10:00am, two residential burglaries took place at homes on El Patio Court. A witness observed four male subjects exit the side yard of one of the residences. Upon returning home, two residents found their homes ransacked with many personal items missing.

As seen in surveillance video (https://youtu.be/Eohzare4lN0), a total of seven teenage suspects walked down the street, away from the homes that were burglarized. One of the suspects can be seen carrying a distinctive shopping bag that was taken during the burglary.

After releasing the surveillance footage last month, we received numerous calls regarding the identity of the suspects. With the information obtained, officers were able to identify the suspect that was carrying the shopping bag. That suspect, a 17 year old male from San Jose, was contacted and admitted participating in the burglaries.

Officers are continuing to investigate the case and have leads on the other six suspects. We encourage the other individuals involved in these burglaries to come forward now. We know many of them, including the suspect who was arrested, saw themselves on the news.

This is another great example of the strong partnership the Campbell Police Department has with our community. If not for the community support and the media’s ability to distribute the information, this case may have gone unsolved. We would like to thank all those who shared the press release/video and to those who called with information regarding the suspects.

We are still encouraging anyone who has any information about the burglaries to call our 24-hour dispatch center at (408) 866-2101 or the Investigations Unit at (408) 871-5190. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through our free mobile application (Campbell Police Department), downloadable from the App Store or Google Play.
