Origin of threat at Middletown school identified. LCSO interviewed the involved parties and parents. Report will be sent for prosecution.

With help from students and parents, the individual responsible for writing the threat on a school wall between the Middletown High and Middle Schools has been identified as a 13 year old female student. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has interviewed the involved parties and their parents. Based on the investigation, the Sheriff's Office does not believe any further threat related to this incident exists. The completed investigation will be forwarded to the Lake County Probation Department for review and possible prosecution. The Middletown Schools will be looking into taking disciplinary action against all involved parties. Thank you to the students and parents who brought forward information to the school officials and the Sheriff's Office. The partnership between the Middletown Schools, students and parents allowed this threat to be addressed and identified quickly. The Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Middletown School District take all threats seriously.
