Marina Shooting Suspects in Custody Following Warrant Service

  On December 5, 2017 at 7:00am, the Berkeley Police Special Response Team and Detectives served arrest warrants in Richmond and South San Francisco on two men wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on July 29, 2017.  The shooting sent the victim to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and left his car partially submerged in the Berkeley Marina.

Arrested were Alan Garcia 25, of Richmond and Mateo Calvillo 32, of South San Francisco.    Today Garcia and Calvillo made their initial court appearance.  The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged Garcia with attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, possession of cocaine for sale, and seven felony enhancements.  They charged Calvillo with attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and two felony enhancements.
