Suspect arrested in police impersonator robbery.

Dec. 7, 2017 – Harris County Sheriff’s Office robbery investigators have arrested a man suspected of impersonating a police officer in order to rob a Walgreens pharmacy.

Travis Lee Wilson, 32, is charged with the Dec. 4 aggravated robbery of the Walgreens located at 2103 F.M. 2920. Security video showed the suspect wearing clothing identifying him as a law officer.

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit received information from Houston Police Department’s Major Offender Squad indicating that HPD Citywide Tac units located the suspect’s Ford Expedition at 2400 S. 35 Bypass in Alvin.

Texas Rangers assisted in providing updated information about the registered owner of the vehicle.

Texas Department of Public Safety Violent Crime Squad personnel, in coordination with Harris County Robbery investigators, responded to the area.

Investigators met with the complainant and provided them a photo lineup of the suspect. The complainant made a positive identification of suspect.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and a Felony Warrant for Aggravated Robbery on was accepted.

Texas Department of Public Safety CID 2A2 Violent Crime Squad personnel executed the arrest warrant and he was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators obtained consent to search of the suspect’s vehicle, and a toy gun, black shirt with “POLICE” on it and a fake plastic badge were recovered. Inside the suspect’s apartment, several patches of Fentanyl were also found.

The patches were one of the items the suspect demanded during the robbery at the Walgreens.
