The Sheboygan Police Department was made aware of an incident involving a person posing as an employee from the water utility. The individual arrived at a customer’s home in the City of Sheboygan,  requesting access to the home. Once in the home, the unknown gentleman reportedly went through the customer’s belongings. While thankfully nothing was taken, the gentleman indicated he would be back to resolve a billing issue.
The Sheboygan Water Utility will always arrive at your home in a marked Sheboygan Water Utility vehicle, and will always carry a City of Sheboygan issued ID card. Appointment requests are made on Utility letterhead by mail, by telephone call, or by door tag left at the property. Utility staff will never ask for money, offer money, or collect payments in person.
