The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

December 5th

0700 Hours: Officer Wang investigated an auto burglary at the Residence Inn, 35466 Dumbarton Court. The loss was a welder and generator.

1007 Hours: Officers responded to an auto burglary that just occurred at Starbucks, 35040 Newark Boulevard. A second burglary was found in the same parking lot, presumed to be committed by the same responsible. The loss is computers and miscellaneous electronics.

1057 Hours: Officer Nobbe investigated the theft of copper pipe from Kennedy Elementary School, 35430 Blackburn Drive.

1105 Hours: Officer Mavrakis investigated the theft of tools from a locked tool box in the bed of a pickup truck at Home Depot, 5401 Thornton Avenue.

1138 Hours: Officer Wang investigated the theft of a Tan 2005 Mazda 3 (CA License #5LYH990) from J Cam Fiberglass, 37444 Sycamore Street.

1140 Hours: Officer Taylor investigated the theft of a Green Toyota Corolla (CA License # 3GLR604) on the 37000 block of Locust Street.

1343 Hours: Officer Taylor investigated the theft of 2000 feet of copper cable from Morton Salt, 7380 Morton Avenue.

1358 Hours: Officer Wang investigated a residential burglary on the 37700 block of Birch Street. The loss is cash and jewelry.

1707 Hours: Officer Mavrakis investigated an auto burglary on the 36600 block of Olive Street.

1817 Hours: Officer D. Johnson and Field Training Officer Norvell investigated an auto burglary on the 7000 block of Thornton Avenue. The loss is two backpacks containing a laptop, wallet and miscellaneous electronics.

2044 Hours: Officer D. Johnson and Field Training Officer Norvell responded to a disturbance at 7-11, 7288 Thornton Avenue. The Officers contacted and arrested a 29-year-old Newark female on her outstanding warrants. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

0407 Hours: Officer Cervantes recovered a Honda Civic that was reported stolen out of Modesto in the Newark Square Shopping Center, 5500 Thornton Avenue.
