Good Monday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 12/1/17, through Sunday, 12/3/17.

12/1/17

-FM 168 at FM 1585, Smyer: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was dispatched to a vehicle crash near the intersection. DPS Troopers arrived and handled the crash investigation.

-FM 597 at Hwy 385, Whitharral: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to the area related to a call of loose livestock. Cattle were located and were secured.

-100 blk McKinley, Smyer: Assist EMS. A deputy was dispatched to a residence in the area related to an individual with a medical issue. One individual was transported by EMS.

-Hwy 114 at FM 1490, Loose Livestock. A deputy was notified of possible loose horses in the area. The horses were located and secured by a citizen in the area.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Theft. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a stolen trailer. The trailer was described as a “5th wheel” trailer. Information was collected for a report and the trailer was entered into the system as stolen. The incident is under investigation.

-100 blk Crestview, Levelland: Criminal Trespass. A deputy was dispatched to meet with an individual regarding someone possibly gaining entry into a residence. No items were reported stolen. Information was collected and the area is on close patrol.

-3400 blk FM 2646, Levelland: Unwanted Subject. Deputies responded to a residence related to a disturbance. Deputies met with both individuals and no offenses were reported. Parties were separated and one individual was issued a criminal trespass warning for the property at the request of the owner.

-3100 blk N. Alamo, Levelland: Threat. A deputy met with complainants regarding a threat that was made against them by a 3rd party. Information was collected for a report and the matter is under investigation.

12/2/17

-3100 blk FM 3261, Levelland: Unresponsive Person. Deputies were notified of a possible unresponsive/deceased individual at a residence in the area. On arrival one individual was found to be deceased. No criminal activity is suspected and reports were taken. No other information will be released regarding the matter.

-Hwy 114 at El Pasoi Rd, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was dispatched to assist with a vehicle crash near the intersection along Hwy 114. DPS Troopers assumed the crash investigation. Deputies assisted with traffic control.

-100 blk Veretto Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a suspicious vehicle in the area. The vehicle was located and belonged to a resident on Veretto Rd.

-FM 168 near Florida Rd, Anton: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a suspicious vehicle parked near a field. The vehicle was located and several individuals were contacted. The persons had permission to be on the property. Information was logged.

12/3/17

-100 blk Hwy 114 Estates, Smyer: Check Welfare. A deputy was dispatched to check the welfare of a resident in the area. A disturbance was reported by the caller. Deputies met with the individual, who reported a minor disturbance with another person. No offenses were reported. The complainant was transported to another location and released.

-500 blk Sylvan, Anton: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy responded to the area related to a suspicious vehicle. A caller advised a silver passenger car was driving by the residence. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located. The residence was checked and found to be secure.

-500 blk Sylvan, Anton: Disturbance. A deputy was dispatched to a verbal disturbance at a residence. No offenses were reported and civil remedies were advised to both parties over a civil complaint. Parties were separated.

-FM 597 at US 84, Anton: Vehicle Crash. A deputy responded to a reported vehicle crash in the area. Assistance was provided on scene and DPS Troopers conducted the crash investigation.

-West Avenue at Equalizer Rd, Levelland: Open Door. A deputy was conducting patrols in the area and located an open door at a business in the area. The property was checked and several employees were located in a different part of the property. The information was logged.

-1400 blk Cactus, Levelland: Civil Issue. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a possible harassment issue. While speaking with the individual it was determined to be a civil matter. Civil remedies were advised.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of Monday, 12/4/17 at 0800 hours: 53 in Hockley County, 9 out of county.
