Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Thursday, 11/30/17.

Good Friday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Thursday, 11/30/17.

-US 84 near FM 168, Anton: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to loose livestock. The area was checked and any loose cattle were contained.

-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Abandoned Vehicle. A deputy responded to the area related to an abandoned vehicle along the roadway. The owner was contacted and made arrangements to tow the vehicle.

-800 blk N. Alamo Rd, Levelland: Animal Complaint. A deputy was notified of a possible injured horse. The area was checked and the horse had ample access to food, water, and shelter. The deputy did not observe any physical signs of injury. The owner was contacted and informed of the situation and advised he would evaluate the horse.

-6800 blk Nevada Rd, Anton: Welfare Check. A deputy responded to the area related to a possible unresponsive subject. The individual was responsive, and was later transported to an area hospital for evaluation by EMS personnel.

-FM 3261 at Hwy 114, Levelland: Traffic Hazard. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to possible oil spilled on the roadway. The spill was small and was covered to absorb the oil. No other complaints were received.

-Lovebird Rd at Bear Rd, Smyer: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to the rea related to two loose pigs. The area was checked and there were none located. No owner was located. Deputies will follow up to attempt to locate the livestock and an owner.

-100 blk Arnett, Ropesville: Intoxicated Person. Deputies responded to the area related to a possible intoxicated individual who made threats to harm himself. The individual was located in the area and found to be intoxicated. Attempts were made to release the individual to a sober adult but none would accept responsibility for him. The deputies placed the individual under arrest for Public Intoxication and transported him the jail without incident.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 12/1/17 at 0800 hours: 48 in Hockley County, 4 to be processed, 12 out of county.
