The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

November 25th

1606 Hours: Officer Nobbe investigated a hit and run accident on the 6100 block of Civic Terrace.

1757 Hours: Officer Jackman responded to Macy’s, NewPark Mall for a shoplifter in custody. The suspect, a 20-year-old Union City male was issued a citation and released at the scene.

2115 Hours: Officer Johnson recovered a Saturn Aura that was reported stolen out of Livermore in the NewPark Mall parking lot.

2208 Hours: Officer Herbert investigated a theft from a vehicle on the 2nd level parking structure at NewPark Mall. The loss is clothing items, vehicle registration/insurance information and dishes.

0303 Hours: Officer Slavazza contacted and arrested a 34-year-old Fremont male for driving under the influence on Thornton Avenue at 880. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

November 26th

0748 Hours: Officer Wang investigated two auto burglaries on the 36800 block of Gum Court. The loss is a ToGuard Dashboard Camera, a Coach brand wallet and various credit cards.

1140 Hours: Officer Quinones investigated a stolen brown 1991 Dodge Pickup (CA license plate# 4J01344) on the 8300 block of Juniper Avenue.

1155 Hours: Officer Quinones investigated a stolen white 2000 Ford E250 Van (CA license plate# 8C45422) on the 37300 block of Elm Street.

1416 Hours: Officer Quinones investigated a solo vehicle rollover collision that occurred on Thornton Avenue at 880. No injuries were reported.

2259 Hours: Officer Slavazza contacted and arrested a 35-year-old Fremont female for possession of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant on Birch Street at Dahlia Street. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

November 27th

0731 Hours: Officer Taylor investigated a single vehicle non-injury accident on Jarvis Avenue at Gateway Boulevard.

1426 Hours: Officer Jackman investigated the theft of tools from a pickup truck in the parking lot at Home Depot, 5401 Thornton Avenue.

2016 Hours: Officer Lenz contacted and arrested a 66-year-old Union City male on the 6900 block of Rich Avenue for his outstanding warrant. The suspect was issued a citation and released at the scene.

2316 Hours: Officer Lenz stopped a Honda Accord for a vehicle code violation on Cherry Street at Mayhews Landing Road. The driver, a 25-year-old Newark female was issued a citation for driving on a suspended license. The vehicle was towed from the scene. A 28-year-old Brisbane male passenger in the vehicle was arrested for his outstanding warrant and booked into the Fremont Jail.
