Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Friday, 11/24/17, through Monday, 11/27/17.

Good Tuesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 11/24/17, through Monday, 11/27/17.

11/24/17

-FM 2306 near Hwy 385, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate loose cattle in the area. The area was checked and none were located.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Civil Issue. A deputy was contacted regarding an employee not receiving his paycheck and being told he could not get it until Monday. The individual was provided civil remedies and advised to contact his employer.

-FM 1490 at America Rd, Levelland: Fire. A deputy responded to a reported cotton module on fire in the area. Fire Department was notified and handled the situation.

-3100 blk Alamo Rd, Levelland: A deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was later located.

-1200 blk Avenue D, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to a request to assist at a residence in the area with a reported individual with a gun. One person was taken into custody by Levelland PD related to the call.

-1800 blk N. Hwy 385, Levelland: Disturbance. A deputy was notified of a disturbance at a residence in the area. One of the involved parties left prior to arrival. Information was taken for a report.

-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Reckless Driver. A deputy responded to the area related to a call of a reckless driver. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

-800 blk College Ave, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies responded to assist Levelland PD with a reported disturbance at an area business. Parties had separated on arrival. Levelland PD handled the incident.

11/25/17

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Civil Issue. A deputy spoke with a complainant regarding a dispute related to property. Civil remedies were advised to the individual.

-100 blk Ellwood, Anton: Burglary. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a vehicle that had been broken into. The scene was processed for evidence and the matter is under investigation.

-Hwy 114 at Leon Rd, Smyer: Juvenile Issue. A deputy responded to a residence in the area related to an issue with a juvenile. DPS Trooper responded to assist. No offenses were reported and the matter was handled.

-900 blk Robin Rd, Levelland: Juvenile Issue. A deputy was dispatched to a residence related to a disturbance involving a juvenile. No offenses were reported and the matter was handled by separation.

-Hwy 385 at America Rd, Levelland: Reckless Driver. A deputy was notified of a reckless driver traveling north of Levelland. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

-100 blk Franklin, Smyer: Assist EMS. A deputy was notified of a medical issue at a residence in the area. No offenses were reported and deputies assisted on scene.

-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Traffic Complaint. A deputy responded to the area due to a roadway obstruction. The deputy removed the obstruction and the roadway was opened.

11/26/17

-1700 blk Owl Rd, Smyer: Vehicle Crash. A deputy responded to the area related to an unattended vehicle that appeared to have crashed. The owner was located and DPS troopers assumed the crash investigation.

-100 blk Main St, Anton: Traffic Complaint. A deputy responded to attempt to locate a vehicle related to a traffic complaint. The area was checked, including the area reported to be where the vehicle owner lives, and the vehicle was not located.

-US 84 at FM 597, Anton: Disabled Vehicle. A deputy checked status on a disabled vehicle along the roadway. The owner had already contacted a tow company to have the vehicle removed.

-1400 blk Avenue S, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to an individual sitting in a vehicle. The individual was contacted and he had fallen asleep in the car. The information was logged, and no offenses were reported or observed.

-1600 blk Avenue T, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to suspicious vehicles. Contact was made with multiple individuals who were assisting an elderly individual into a vehicle. No offenses were observed or reported.

11/27/17

-1700 blk Pheasant Rd, Smyer: Civil Issue. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a child custody complaint. After meeting with the complainant it was determined there were no court orders in place. Civil remedies were advised to the individual.

-Beaver Rd at FM 2646, Levelland: Theft. A deputy responded to the area related to a reported theft of oil field equipment from a rig location. Information was collected for a report and the matter is under investigation.

-FM 303 at Pep: Traffic Complaint. A deputy was notified of a vehicle traveling south from Lamb County along the roadway with a flat tire. The deputy contacted the individual and he was trying to make it to Levelland to have multiple tires repaired. The deputy transported the individual to an area business to have the tires repaired.

-6800 blk Colorado Rd, Smyer: Criminal Mischief. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to damage to a property marker. The caller only wanted the information documented. Information was collected.

-FM 3261 at Cactus, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to a reported major collision in the area. DPS troopers arrived on scene and worked the crash investigation. Deputies assisted with traffic control as needed.

-6900 blk Elephant Rd, Smyer: Check Welfare. A deputy was dispatched to check welfare of a resident at a house in the area. The individual was at an area hospital and information was relayed to the complainant.

-2500 blk Mockingbird Ln, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy responded to the area to attempt to locate a vehicle. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

-100 blk N. College Ave, Levelland: Civil Matter: A deputy was dispatched to the area related to civil paperwork. The individual was located and paper was served.

-2400 blk Hwy 114, Levelland: Traffic Complaint. A deputy was notified of a vehicle blocking the roadway in the area. The vehicle was damaged and the deputy assisted in moving the vehicle from the roadway. The driver had assistance already headed to the area to fix the vehicle.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols throughout the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 11/28/17 at 0800 hours: 48 in Hockley County, 1 to be processed, 12 out of county.
