Don't let porch pirates plunder your holiday online shopping!

The Holiday shopping season has officially begun with online shopping deals already offered on Black Friday. Record-breaking Cyber Monday sales are expectedftoday, and with that comes increased opportunities for package theft. Here a few steps you can take to prevent becoming a victim of "Porch Piracy":
- If allowed, have packages delivered to your work place instead of home.
- Have your packages delivered to someone who can receive it in person, like a trusted neighbor or relative who is usually at home.
- Request that the shipper hold the package at their delivery distribution center for pick-up. Some companies offer local locker service for pick-up and return.
- If shopping with a large retailer, choose in-store pickup
- Track your package online and arrange a specific date and time for delivery when you will be home to receive it. Most of the large carriers offer this option:
FedEx: http://www.fedex.com/tracking
UPS: https://www.ups.com/tracking/tracking.ht...
DHL: http://www.dhl.com/en/express/tracking.h...
USPS: https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAc...
