Sheriff Victor Hill’s Elite B.A.T. Squad Runs Down Suspicious Suspect Armed With A Gun!
Sheriff Victor Hill’s elite B.A.T. (Burglary-Auto Theft- Truancy) Squad along with the Clayton County Police Department responded to a call for service from a citizen who observed a suspicious male lurking around homes.
Interestingly, when Deputies made contact with the suspect, he had on a green camouflage shirt that read “nothing runs like a deere”. Perhaps that was his motivation to take off running when he was asked if he could be patted down to see if he had any weapons. However, the suspect later identified as Tyleib Grapenreed could not run like a deer, but the responding law-enforcement officers could and Grapenreed found himself tackled. Grapenreed was carrying a concealed stolen handgun and he is now facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail.
The citizen that dialed 911 when they saw this suspicious person is to be commended! We encourage all of our citizens to do the same so that we can remove armed thugs from our community.
The Christmas season is here and Sheriff Victor Hill wants to enlist everyone’s help for his “Catch A Robber For Christmas” program. Any citizen during the Christmas Season that observes something or someone suspicious and dials 911 which ends in the result of the arrest of an armed suspect will be sworn in and giving an honorary badge by “THE CRIME FIGHTER” himself!
The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office wishes you all a safe and happy Thanksgiving, and do not forget to help Sheriff Victor Hill “Catch A Robber For Christmas”!
