*2nd UPDATE* #LASD Deputy-Involved Non-Hit Shooting Investigation, 11900 block of 162nd Street, Norwalk

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Internal Affairs Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances regarding a deputy-involved shooting. 
 
On Monday, November 20, 2017, at approximately 5:00 pm, Norwalk deputies responded to Hermosillo Park in Norwalk regarding a shooting at the park.  Deputies gathered information and learned three suspects were seen running southbound through the park and out of view.
 
While checking the immediate area, deputies located three men matching the description of the suspects.  An encounter ensued and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.  The suspects fled the location and were seen running into a nearby house in the 11900 block of 162nd Street.
 
Deputies contained the area and with the assistance of Special Enforcement Bureau personnel, searched nearby homes and made surrender announcements.  During this process, 2 male Hispanic suspects and one male juvenile subject, exited a nearby home and were taken into custody. 
 
A gun was recovered after a search of the home. 
 
The suspects and subject, whose names are not being released at this time, were arrested, transported to Norwalk Station, booked for Assault on a Peace Officer and are being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. 
 
No deputies were injured during the incident. 
 
The investigation is on-going.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Internal Affairs Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a deputy involved shooting that occurred on Monday, November 20, 2017, at approximately 5:00 p.m., on the 11900 block of 162nd Street, Norwalk.

After a lengthy search of the area, two people where detained, questioned, and later released.

A firearm was recovered from the scene. 

The suspects remain outstanding and the investigation is on-going. 

There is no further information available at this time. 

Whenever a Deputy Involved Shooting occurs involving Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies, and the suspect(s) is not wounded, multiple investigations immediately begin at the scene.  These include separate investigations by the Sheriff's Internal Affairs Bureau as well as Sheriff's station or Detective Division investigators.  The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department immediately notifies the Office of the Inspector General who sends a representative to the incident scene and provides independent oversight throughout the investigative process.  Once concluded, every aspect of the shooting is reviewed by the Sheriff's Executive Force Review Committee.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Internal Affairs Bureau detectives are responding to the 11900 block of 162nd Street, Norwalk, to investigate the circumstances surrounding a deputy involved shooting. 
 
Norwalk deputies responded to the location regarding a “Gunshot Victim” call. When deputies arrived a deputy-involved shooting occurred.  The suspects ran from the location and a containment was initiated by deputies. The initial victim stated in the call has not been located. 
 
No deputies were injured, suspects are outstanding and it is unknown if any of the suspects were injured.
 
There is no further information at this time, and the investigation is on-going.
