New kiosk for expired or unwanted medication disposal available at the Emeryville Police Department

The Emeryville Police Department and the Alameda County MED-Project have teamed up to offer a local drop off kiosk for expired or unwanted prescription medications. The kiosk is available in the main lobby of the Police Department and can be accessed free of charge for medication disposal Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
A few things to know before dropping off expired or unwanted medications:
-Medications in any dosage form in their original container or sealed bag may be turned in at kiosks.
-The following are not accepted in kiosks: herbal remedies, vitamins, supplements, cosmetics, other personal care products, compressed cylinders, aerosols, inhalers, medical devices, pet pesticide products, sharps, illicit drugs, and iodine containing medications. Combination products will only be accepted at take-back events.
-Please remove all personal and identifying information from your medication labels and/or its packaging before disposal.
