Theft/Attempting to Elude Arrest 
(Etowah County, Alabama) A Wellington man has been arrested in connection to the theft of property, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Jimmy Ray Green, 46, of Wellington, is charged with one count of second degree theft of property, possession of a pistol by a violent felon and attempting to elude,” investigator Adam Chapman said.
Green allegedly stole a Taurus .38 Special hand gun, Smith and Wesson Body Guard knife, an Asus laptop and approximately $200 from a residence on Walker Mountain Road.
Green refused to exit his car after Investigator Chapman found him near Green’s residence on Ewing Avenue. Green then took off and a vehicle pursuit ensued. Deputy Chris Smith assisted Investigator Chapman and they were able to safely stop the pursuit. Green was taken into custody without injury.
To date, the stolen knife and hand gun have been recovered. Investigator Brian Smith assisted in the recovery of the firearm.
Green is being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $15,000 bond.
