Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Friday, 11/17/17, through Sunday, 11/19/17

Good Monday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 11/17/17, through Sunday, 11/19/17.

11/17/17

-1800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Assist EMS. A deputy was dispatched to assist EMS with an unresponsive individual. No offenses were observed and a report was completed.

-800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to locate loose chickens along the roadway. The owner was located and the chickens were secured.

-2000 blk Hwy 114, Levelland: Disturbance. A deputy responded to a reported verbal disturbance at a business in the area. Parties were separated prior to arrival of deputies, and no offenses were reported. The owner requested a criminal trespass notice be served on the other party.

-1800 blk Juneau, Levelland: Juvenile Issue. A deputy was notified of a possible runaway in the area. A search was conducted, and the juvenile was located by a family member.

-1600 blk Avenue X, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

-3300 blk Sampson Post, Sundown: Theft. A deputy was dispatched to a reported theft of several items from a vehicle. A report was taken and the incident is under investigation.

-200 blk Pat, Levelland: Traffic Complaint. A deputy responded to a reported reckless driver on Hwy 114. The vehicle was described as a possible tanker truck. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

11/18/17

-FM 2130 at King Rd: Reckless Driver. A deputy conducted a vehicle stop after observing a truck driving in both traffic lanes. There were no signs of intoxication and the driver was later cited and released.

-3200 blk FM 300, Levelland: Civil Issue. A deputy was dispatched to an address in the area related to a civil matter. Information was collected from the complaining party and the incident was documented.

-Hwy 114 near El Paso Rd, Levelland: Roadway Obstruction. A deputy was dispatched to remove debris from the roadway. The items were located and the debris was removed.

-FM 168 at Deer Rd, Smyer: Loose Livestock. A deputy was notified of loose livestock in the area. On arrival, no cattle were loose and all livestock were secured.

-6900 blk Elephant Rd, Smyer: Criminal Trespass. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a trespass issue. The individual left the property before arrival of deputies. The individual was not located. The owner requested a criminal trespass warning be issued.

-FM 3261 at Industrial, Levelland: Traffic Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to the area regarding traffic blocking the roadway. The area was checked and the roadway was clear.

-200 blk Cleveland, Smyer: Suspicious Person. A deputy was dispatched to a reported suspicious person in the area. The area was checked and no one was located.

-3200 blk Quail Rd, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in the area. One of the parties involved left the area before deputies arrived. The reporting party did not wish to pursue any charges in the matter. Information was collected for a report.

11/19/17

-3500 blk Quail Rd, Ropesville: Burglary. A deputy was notified of a burglary report at a residence in the area. Several tools were reported stolen. The scene was processed and evidence was recovered. A report is pending and the matter is under investigation.

-FM 2130 at Hwy 84, Anton: Found Property. A deputy responded to the area related to a call of a found cell phone on the roadway. The property was taken and deputies are attempting to return it to the owner.

-200 blk Bobby, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy assisted in an apprehension of an individual related to a stolen vehicle. The individual was transported to the jail and released to jail personnel.

-Kelly Rd at West Houston, Levelland: Shots Fired. A deputy responded to a report of shots fired in the area. Individuals were located leaving the area and the information was documented. No offenses were reported.

-400 blk Cragin, Sundown: Suspicious Activity. A deputy responded to a residence regarding someone possibly tampering with exterior lighting. The issue was corrected and no offenses were reported.

-Kelly Rd near Hwy 114, Levelland: Disabled Vehicle. A deputy observed a disabled vehicle in the area. The owner was contacted and stated the vehicle broke down and would be repaired and moved.

-200 blk 15th St, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to assist with a disturbance at a residence. Levelland officers took the report information. One of the parties left prior to arrival.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols throughout the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 11/20/17 at 0800 hours: 54 in Hockley County, 2 to be processed, 6 out of county.
