Sheriff Richard J Behnke reports on 11/17/17 at approximately 2320 hours, deputies from Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle injury accident at M217 near Wayne St. Investigation shows that Dale Eugene Shrock (57 year old of Middlebury, IN) was traveling Northbound on M217 when another vehicle collided with Shrock’s vehicle. Upon arrival, the driver of the second vehicle had left the scene of the accident. Shrock was transported to Elkhart General for his injuries. Seatbelts were used at the time of the crash and airbags did deploy. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash. Cass County deputies were assisted by SEPSA ambulance and Porter Fire Department. This crash remains under investigation.
