Palmdale Community Advisory Committee's Town Hall Meeting: "Mingle with a Deputy"

On Wednesday, November 29th, the Palmdale Community Advisory Committee will host their quarterly Town Hall Meeting: “Mingle with a Deputy.”  The event will be held from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Legacy Commons located at 930 East Avenue Q-9, Palmdale.

All residents within the areas patrolled by the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station are invited, and encouraged, to attend.  (Residents of Acton, Agua Dulce, Green Valley, Juniper Hills, Lake Elizabeth, Lake Hughes, Leona Valley, Littlerock, Llano, Palmdale, Pearblossom, Sun Village, and Valyermo)
 
The Committee members will report on the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station’s progress toward meeting the requirements of the Settlement Agreement between the US Department of Justice and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
 
There will also be smaller, group discussions with the individual Committee members.  These discussions are intended to give the Committee members direct feedback from the community.
Discussion topics will include:
                              *Stops, Searches, and Seizures
                              *Bias-free Policing
                              *Use of Force
                              *Policies and Training
                              *DOJ Settlement Agreement
                              *Citizen Complaint Process
                              *Supervision
                              *Housing
                              *Community Engagement
 
Community members are encouraged to discuss their experiences with, and perceptions of, the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station and offer solutions related to the Settlement Agreement requirements.
 
The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) consists of members from the community who work to build a better understanding between the public and the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station through education and communication.  The CAC members volunteer their time and do not work for the Sheriff’s Station.
