Fatal Traffic Collision resulted in the closure of Promenade Avenue earlier today. Promenade has since been reopened.

Corona, CA– On Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 at 1:18 PM, the Corona Police Department and the Corona Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving a single vehicle into a light pole on Promenade Avenue east of Fairbanks Street.

Upon arrival, Corona Fire Department Personnel located a female adult in the front passenger seat unresponsive and began C.P.R. The passenger and the driver were transported to a local hospital, where the passenger was pronounced deceased. Subsequently, Promenade Avenue was closed for both directions of travel between Brittany Drive and Fairbanks Street.

Based on a witness statement and evidence located at the scene of the collision, the involved vehicle was traveling east on Promenade Avenue and drove directly into a light pole. The Corona Police Department's Collision Response Team is handling the investigation. At this time, the cause of the collision is still under investigation and it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
