10/02/17 *Larceny (theft) of Utility Trailer
200 Block of 6 Mile Rd. - White Construction/Utility Trailer containing tools & power equipment bearing identifying number 12-246 (CA-Hull) was removed from the storage yard without consent. Case remains under Investigation

10/04/17 *Criminal Sexual Conduct
An investigation of a sexual assault determined the incident was committed out of Northfield Township’s jurisdiction. The incident was perpetrated by a known suspect and has been turned over for further investigation to the proper jurisdiction.

10/05/17 *Arrest – Driving While License Suspended
U.S.23 & 8 Mile Rd– Traffic violation “Drive wrong way on a One Way” - Driver was discovered to be driving on a suspended license – Driver Arrested & Released with Citation – Vehicle turned over to a valid driver.

10/06/17 *Identity Theft
8000 Block of Coyle Victim was notified by her company that someone had filed for unemployment benefits using her last name & Social Security number. Victim had not filed for unemployment. The case remains under investigation

10/06/17 *Arrest – No Insurance
6 Mile and Whitmore Lake Road – Traffic Investigation revealed the driver was driving without motor vehicle insurance – Driver Arrested and Vehicle Impounded – Case forwarded for Prosecutors review

10/13/17 *Arrest - Domestic Violence
NTPD -Walk In Police Report –Victim reported she had been physically assaulted by ex-boyfriend –Investigation led to the perpetrator being interviewed, arrested and charged with Domestic Violence & Unlawful Imprisonment.

10/14/17 *Malicious Destruction of Property
600 Block of Westbrook –Victim reported that she parked her vehicle at 10pm (10/13), and at 1130am (10/14) she discovered that her front drivers tire was slashed No witnesses or suspects

10/15/17 *Arrest - No Driver’s License ever Obtained
U.S 23 & N. Territorial Officers Traffic violation resulted in discovery that driver had no license to drive – Driver was Arrested and Released with a citation to appear in court

10/17/17 *Home Invasion
2100 Block of E Joy Rd - Homeowners reported that between 10am & 6pm someone broke their side door and entered their house disturbing and stealing their property. Investigation led to some property being recovered and a possible suspect identified. Case remains under investigation.

10/20/17 *Fatal Accident Investigation
Barker & Jennings –A crash occurred between a vehicle & a motorcycle causing the motorcyclist to succumb to his injuries. No drugs or alcohol are suspected. The case has been submitted to the prosecutor’s office for review.

10/21/17 *Hit & Run Crash
Main Street & Barker – Driver reported that a white Chevy Truck passed her vehicle and struck her left front end – the Chevy is believed to have damage to its right rear quarter panel. No suspects or witnesses

10/23/17 *Arrest – Fugitive Warrant
9200 Block of Main St – Officers observed subject wanted on an outstanding warrant – Subject was arrested and turned over to Canton Police

10/24/17 *Hit & Run Property Damage
400 Block of East Shore – Unknown vehicle crashed into the caller’s attached garage. No evidence left at the scene and no suspect located


10/26/17 *Driving with an Expired Driver’s License & No Insurance
U.S. 23 & Six Mile Rd – Traffic violation resulted in the discovery that the driver had an expired license and was driving an unassured vehicle on the roadway. The vehicle was impounded and the driver issued a citation.


10/28/17 * Malicious Destruction of Property
9100 Block of Lakewood Dr – Victim stated that she parked her intact vehicle at approx. 2:30am and discovered the rear window broken out at 2:30pm –Nothing appeared to be taken from vehicle. No suspects, or witnesses

10/28/17 *Malicious Destruction of Property
400 Block of Barker- Victim stated that he parked his intact vehicle at 11:00am & at 8:00pm victim discovered mirror broken off and two tires cut – No witnesses –Case remains open

10/30/17 *Arrest – Drive while License Suspended
Main St & Shady Beach – traffic violation (tinted windows) resulted in the discovery driver was driving on a suspended license. Driver was arrested and released with a citation to appear in court

10/30/17 *Road Rage – Littering
U.S 23 & Six Mile – conflict between drivers while merging resulted in words being exchanged, spit flying and coffee being thrown – Littering charges were presented to the prosecutor for review.

10/30/17 *Larceny (theft) of Trail Cameras
5600 Block of Pontiac Trail – homeowner reported that sometime between 10/25 & 10/28 someone entered his property and removed, by cutting the straps, 3 trail cameras. No suspects or no witnesses.

10/30/17 *Trespass Notice Served
400 Block of Turquoise – resident requested that a known party be given a trespass notice –Notice was served

10/30/17 *Possession of Suspected Marijuana
Six Mile & U.S.23 – observed traffic violation and upon traffic stop the officer smelled an odor of marijuana – marijuana was located and sent to the lab for analysis. Vehicle occupants released pending lab results. Case remains under investigation

10/30/17 *Arrest – Fugitive Warrant
U.S 23 & North Territorial – Traffic Violation -Expired Plates resulted in discovery of driver being wanted on two outstanding warrants from Ypsilanti. Driver arrested; transported to Washtenaw Co Jail and released to Ypsilanti Police Dept.

10/31/17 *Drive an uninsured vehicle on the roadway
U.S. 23 & N. Territorial – Observed traffic violations (careless –hazardous driving). Upon stop, it was determined that driver did not have auto insurance for the vehicle. Vehicle impounded and findings forwarded to the prosecutor for review.
