Police Blotter October 16th through October 23rd

October 16th

Warrant Arrest - BART Path / Hill Street:
At 0922 hours, an officer contacted a 48-year-old San Pablo woman. She was wanted on a no cite FTA warrant. She was arrested, booked and transported to the MDF.

Grand Theft - (H&R Block) 4040 EC Plaza:
At 1333 hours, an officer responded to the report of a laptop theft. An unidentified suspect stole an employee’s silver HP Envy 17” laptop computer.

Stolen Vehicle (Recovery) - (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1604 hours, an officer responded to a suspicious vehicle. An unidentified suspect stole a white 2002 GMV Savanna work van and the tools inside it from the Richmond Home Depot earlier in the day. The vehicle was located unoccupied with the majority of the tools missing.

Stolen Vehicle - Eastshore Blvd / Potrero Ave:
At 1609 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft of a silver 1999 Honda Civic. The unidentified suspect stole the Honda in between 0455 hours and 1430 hours.

Warrant Arrest - S. 52nd St / Potrero Ave:
At 1928 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 23-year-old Richmond woman, and it was determined she had a felony warrant. The woman was arrested and transported to ECPD for processing. The woman was subsequently booked into County Jail.

Robbery - (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1948 hours officers were sent to Safeway on a reported theft that had just occurred. Upon arrival it was determined the victim had agreed to meet someone he had met via an internet sales site. The victim was communicating with the subject and when the victim walked around to look for the subject, he was approached from behind and his laptop bag forcefully removed from his hand. The suspect fled the area on foot. The suspect was only described as an unknown race male wearing a white hoodie and dark pants.

Auto Burglary - 8000 El Cerrito Plaza (Macaroni Grill):
At 2000 hours an auto burglary was reported. It was determined the suspect(s) had smashed the right front passenger window of the victim vehicle and stole items from inside. The crime occurred on 10/16/17 between 1800 and 2000 hrs.

Vehicle Theft - Carlson Blvd / San Pablo Ave:
At 2237 hours a vehicle theft was reported. The victim reported his vehicle had been stolen on 10/16/17 between 0550 and 2200 hrs.

October 17th

Grand Theft - 10400 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 1030 hours, an officer responded to the report of a grand theft. Parishioners of a local church reported making a deposit on August 13th. The deposit was double counted and verified. The bank deposited $8800 less into the account. It is under investigation to determine who took the money.

Assault with a weapon – (Dennys) 11344 San Pablo Ave:
At 1405 hours, an officer contacted a 29-year-old El Cerrito woman. She reported being involved in a physical fight with a co-worker, a 35-year-old San Pablo man on Sunday. She slapped him during an argument. He slapped her back and then she then struck him on the back of the head with a metal spatula, laying open the back of his head.

Robbery - 1700 block of Liberty St:
At 2004 hours officers were sent to the area on a report of an attempt robbery that had occurred. Upon arrival it was determined that the suspected had attempted to take the victims bag, however the victim was able to maintain control of the bag while falling. The suspect fled the area on foot. The suspect was described as a black male adult, 20’s, skinny, clean shaven, short hair, wearing a blue jacket.

Warrant Arrest - 11545 San Pablo Ave:
At 2223 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 37-year-old Concord man. It was determined he man had a misdemeanor warrant. The man was arrested and cite released from ECPD.

Shoplifitng, Probation Violation - 11545 San Pablo Ave:
While on a traffic stop an officers attention was drawn to the security alarms sounding from the front doors of the business. A 29-year-old Transient man exited the business wearing a pair of shoes he had just stolen. The man was also in possession of other items stolen from the store. The man was arrested and transported to ECPD for processing. The man was subsequently booked into County Jail.

False Identity, Misappropriation of found property, Probation Violation - 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2312 hours officers were sent to the business on a report of an unwanted subject. Upon arrival a 31-year-old transient man was contacted and provided a false name. It was determined the man was in possession of credit cards and a check not belonging to him. The man was transported to ECPD for processing where his ID was confirmed. The man was subsequently booked into County Jail.

October 18th

Shoplifting – (Bed Bath and Beyond) 6060 EC Plaza:
At 1001 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft. A black male, 30’s, wearing a gray sweatshirt and black pants pulling a suitcase, loaded up with numerous waffle irons and fled on foot towards Liberty Street. He dropped three of them, which the manager recovered.

Residential Burglary - 5400 block of Barrett Ave:
At 1023 hours, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. In between 10-14-2017 and 10-16-2017, an unidentified suspect kicked a door of a residence. Once inside, the suspect stole cooper and painting tools.

Shoplifter - 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1356 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifter. A black female, 25-year-old, striped shirt and black pants with a bandanna wrapped around her head stole food items. She fled on a bicycle westbound onto Cutting Blvd.

Stolen Vehicle - 2500 block of Arlington Blvd:
At 1954 hours, an officer reports the victim’s vehicle was stolen on 10/18, between the hours of 1400 and 1900 hours.

Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave / Carlson Blvd:
At 2056 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 41-year-old male for an outstanding warrant. The male was booked and released.

Auto Burglary - ( Lucky) 1000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 2131 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered a window to the vehicle and ransacked the interior. There was no missing property. Crime occurred between 2120 hours and 2135 hours.

Shoplifting - (Lucky) 1000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 2219 hours, an officer was flagged down by Lucky’s employees regarding a shoplifter. The officer entered the business and contacted a 46-year-old female from Berkeley who was in the process of concealing merchandise and told the officer she intended to steal the property. The female was taken into custody and released on a citation.

Stolen Vehicle and Collision - Arlington Blvd / Cutting Blvd:
At 0013 hours, officers were dispatched to suspicious vehicle with the driver passed out behind the wheel. The reporting party provided the license plate which came back to a reported stolen vehicle to Walnut Creek. Officers arrived on scene and began to conduct a felony stop. As officers attempted to order out the occupant, the vehicle began to roll down hill. The vehicle continued through the school parking lot then down the embankment along the east side of Tamalpais Avenue where the vehicle came to rest. Officers surrounded the vehicle and approached the vehicle and arrested 35-year-old male from Concord. The male was booked and transported to county jail.

October 19th

Shoplifting – (CVS) 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 1320 hours, Officers responded to the report of a shoplifting. Officer Major located the suspect, a 22-year-old Berkeley man inside of Marshall's. The manager reported he stole shampoo and toothpaste. He was field cited.

Shoplifting – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1343 hours, officers responded to the report of a shoplifting. A black female, approx. 30-year-old, wearing a gray jacket over a white shirt stole two rolls of paper towels and fled.

Shoplifting – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1409 hours, an officer was notified of a subject stealing beer. A 56-year-old Richmond man stole a case of beer and made a dash across the parking lot. He was taken into custody in the parking lot. He was found to be intoxicated. He was booked and released on a citation.

Shoplifting - (Ross) 2000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1838 hours, an officer reports the arrest of a 40-year-old male from San Francisco after the male entered Ross and selected a shopping cart of merchandise and left without paying. The store’s manager followed the male and chased him throughout the plaza. The male left the property near Bed Bath and beyond and fled to Plaza BART were officers located the male. The male was identified via in field show up and taken into custody. The male was booked and cited.

Trespassing - 10900 San Pablo Avenue:
At 0040 hours, officers were dispatched to the ECFD. Fire personnel called to report that, 20-year-old male, climbed through an open window on the west side of the fire building into the bathroom. The male was discovered sleeping in the bathroom. When asked to leave the male stated he wanted to shower and attempted to take some towels. Officers arrived as the male was walking out of the bathroom and taking into custody. No property was taken from the fire department. The male was booked and transported to MDF.

October 20th

Robbery - 11382 San Pablo Ave (Atlas Liquors):
At approximately 2032 hrs. El Cerrito officers were sent to a reported armed robbery that occurred at Atlas Liquors, 11382 San Pablo Ave. Upon arrival it was determined that the business had been robbed at gunpoint by two suspects. During the robbery one of the suspects discharged a firearm, striking a clerk. The suspects fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk, a 49-year-old male, suffered a gunshot wound to his lower body. The victim was transported to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek for his injuries. The injury to the victim does not appear to be life threatening. The suspects were described as follows:

Suspect #1 Black male adult, thin build, approx. 6-0, wearing light color sweat suit

Suspect #2 Black male adult, medium build, approx. 5-10, wearing dark jacket and white jeans.

A possible involved vehicle is a black newer model 4 door sedan.

Robbery - Richmond St / Fairmount Ave:
At 0105 hours officers were sent to the area on a report of a robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival it was determined that two victims were approached by three suspects and they demanded their cell phones. Three suspects assaulted the two victims and stole a cellular telephone. The victims received minor injuries as a result of the assault.

At approx. 0134 hrs. officers located three subjects matching the description provided by the victims on Stockton Ave. near San Pablo Ave. It was determined one of the suspects was in possession of the victims cellular telephone. The suspects were two juveniles and an 18-year-old Richmond man. The three suspects were arrested. The adult was booked into County Jail and the juveniles were booked into Juvenile Hall.

October 21st

Stolen Vehicle Recovery - Key Blvd / MacDonald Ave:
At 2008 hours an officer located a parked unoccupied stolen vehicle. The vehicle, a 1999 Silver Honda Civic 4 door, had been reported stolen to ECPD on 10/16/2017. The vehicle was released t the owner at the scene.

Robbery - 11344 San Pablo Ave (Denny’s Parking Lot):
At 2107 hours an officer was flagged down in regard to an armed robbery that had just occurred. It was determined that the victims had come to the parking lot to purchase an item the suspect said he had for sale. When the suspect arrived he pointed a handgun at the victim and stole their property. A second suspect assisted with the robbery as well. The involved suspect vehicle is a red older model vehicle. The suspect was described as a BMA, approx., 25-30 years old, full well maintained beard, 6 foot tall, thin build, wearing a black beanie, and dark clothing.

Auto Burglary - 10422 San Pablo Ave (Bank of America Lot):
At 2226 hours an officer responded to a report of an auto burglary that had occurred. Upon arrival it was determined the victim vehicle had been entered via a window smash. The loss was a lap top and bag. Occurred on 10/22/17 between 2000-2030 hrs.

Warrant Arrest - Elm St / Hill St:
At 2108 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted a passenger, a 34-year-old El Sobrante man, and determined he had a misdemeanor warrant. The man was arrested and transported to ECPD for processing. The man was subsequently booked into County Jail.

Vehicle Collision, Drug Possession - 7100 block of Potrero Ave:
At 0011 hours officers were sent to the area in regard to a vehicle into a utility pole. Upon arrival a 35-year-old Oakland man was contacted standing next to his vehicle. Investigation revealed the man was in possession of narcotics. The man was arrested and transported to ECPD for processing. The man was cite released from ECPD.

Warrant Arrest - Key Blvd / Humboldt St:
At 0223 hours an officer contacted a 39-year-old Transient man and determined he had a misdemeanor warrant. The man was arrested and transported to ECPD for processing. The man was subsequently booked into County Jail.

October 22nd

Public Intoxication - Coronado St / Fairmount Ave:
At 1933 hours officers were sent to the area on a report of a intoxicated female who was walking into traffic. Upon arrival a 40-year-old Berkeley woman was contacted and determined to be too intoxicated to care for her safety. The woman was booked into County Jail.

October 23rd

Robbery - 11565 San Pablo Ave. (Walgreens):
At 2104 hours officers were sent to the business on a reported armed robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival it was determined that the suspect had brandished a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. The suspect received the money and fled on foot. A possible involved vehicle was a light blue or gray Nissan Maxima. The suspect was described as a black male adult, 30-40 years old, approx. 5-07 170 lbs., wearing a black cap, and black jacket and black pants.

Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave / Central Ave:
At 0120 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 22-year-old Oakland man. It was determined the man had a warrant. The man was transported to ECPD for processing and then booked into County Jail.
