Over the past several days the Franklin Township Police Department has received reports of a suspicious person and vehicle in the area of the Franklin Middle School while students are arriving in the morning and leaving in the afternoon.    Witnesses have reported that a 6’0” to 6’2”, dark skinned African American male, approximately 20-30 years of age has been lingering in the tree line near the school.  Additionally, residents have reported a small black sports car that is not familiar to the area.    Our Investigative Division and School Resource Officers are actively investigating these incidents.   Residents and parents should not be alarmed if they notice an increased presence of plain clothed and uniformed police officers in and around the school during the times of admission and dismissal.   This is being done strictly as a precautionary measure.
