The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community

November 2nd

1101 Hours: Officer Pacheco contacted and arrested a 22-year-old Hayward female for her outstanding warrant on Newark Boulevard at Jarvis Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1952 Hours: Officer Mapes investigated a non-injury auto accident on Central Avenue at Sycamore Street.

2015 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated a window smash auto burglary at BJ’s Restaurant, 5699 Mowry Avenue. The loss is a backpack containing a laptop computer, passport and miscellaneous electronic items.

2035 Hours: Officer Hunter investigated a window smash auto burglary on the 5750 block of Stevenson Boulevard. The loss is a backpack containing school books and school supplies.

2036 Hours: During a traffic stop at Thornton Avenue at Cedar Boulevard, Officer Rivera arrested a 58-year-old Hayward male for having fake registration tabs on his vehicle. The suspect was issued a citation and released at the scene.

2106 Hours: A Newark citizen provided the Police Department videos of a subject peeping into the windows of their residence Tuesday and Wednesday morning between the hours of 0000-0030. Officers Smith and Horst were assigned to investigate this incident. At approximately 2330 hours, the suspect returned and was arrested by Officer Smith. The 42-year-old transient male was charged with three counts of peeping and one count of prowling. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

2113 Hours: Officer Hunter responded to Macy’s on a report of a shoplifter in custody. The 23-year-old Fremont female was arrested for petty theft, issued a citation and released at the scene.
