On October 29, 2017, at 4:37 a.m. Sgt. John Fischer conducted a traffic stop on a White 2015 Chrysler 200 for speeding on State Road 168 near Fort Branch. Upon approaching the vehicle Sgt. Fischer identified the driver as 22 year old Lauren Puthoff of Fort Branch. While speaking with Ms. Puthoff he detected the odor of alcohol coming from the driver and began a roadside DUI investigation. At the conclusion of his investigation Ms. Puthoff was transported to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (DUI.) Ms. Puthoff was also issued citations for speeding and driving with a suspended operator’s license. She has since posted a $650 bond.
