On Saturday, October 28, 2017, at approximately 10:03 AM, Menlo Park Police Officers responded to CVS Pharmacy located at 700 El Camino Real in Menlo Park on a report of a male subject in the store demanding Alprazolam pills, a schedule IV controlled substance. The alert employee recognized the subject as being similar to the suspect involved in a robbery that had occurred at the same store on October 26, 2017. Noting this, she dialed 911 and left the line open while she attempted to stall him. The subject ultimately became impatient, told the employee he needed his medication now and lifted his shirt displaying a handgun in his waistband. Seeing the firearm, the employee complied with his demands and handed the subject the requested medication. The subject then fled the store and was last seen on foot heading northbound in the parking towards Ravenswood Avenue.

Officers arrived in the area in less than one minute and began searching for the suspect. An officer located a person matching the description of the robbery suspect leaving the area on a bicycle. The officer ordered the subject to stop, but he refused, and attempted to flee. Despite his efforts, the subject was quickly detained by officers on Ravenswood Avenue at the Caltrain tracks. During his detention, the subject was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm, a mask and the stolen prescription narcotics from today’s robbery.

An investigation by Menlo Park Police Officers and Detectives revealed that Scott Davis, a 50-year-old male from Menlo Park, had not only committed this robbery, but a prior CVS pharmacy robbery on October 26, 2017, as well as an attempted Walgreens pharmacy robbery on October 25, 2017, both in Menlo Park. Davis was arrested on two counts of Armed Robbery, Attempted Robbery, Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Narcotics and Resisting Arrest. He was later booked into the San Mateo County Jail Maguire Facility on the listed charges.
