Here is the Castaic / Val Verde (Zone 2) public safety report for the week of October 9th - October 15th:
 

10-09-17 

Theft- 28000 block of Witherspoon Parkway
The victim confronted two male suspects who were seen stealing a small gas-powered generator from a worksite. One of the suspects showed the victim a handgun in his waistband. The victim immediately left and called the sheriff's department. Suspects left in an older model small pickup truck. 
 

10-10-17 

Arson- 28000 block of Witherspoon Parkway

The fire department responded to a vehicle fire in the parking lot. The cause of the fire was suspicious in nature. Deputies responded and learned the vehicle was reported stolen a week earlier out of Canyon Country. 
 

10-10-17 

Theft- 27000 block of Moonlight Place
The victim reported a briefcase was stolen from their vehicle in the early morning hours. Numerous personal items as well as credit cards were inside the case. While notifying the bank of the incident, the victim realized the suspect had made several purchases using their bank card.
