October 2nd

Shoplifting / Resisting Arrest - (Walgreens) 11545 San Pablo Ave:
At 1554 hours, an officer was flagged down about a shoplifting that just occurred. The suspect, a 44-year-old Richmond man loaded a backpack up with property and fled on a bicycle. A nearby officer drove after the suspect and repeatedly ordered him to get off the bicycle. The suspect threw the back pack over a fence near I-80. The officer followed him on his bicycle for several blocks where the suspect was forced off the bicycle and taken into custody. The subject was found to have an outstanding warrant for shoplifting as well. He was booked and released on a citation.

Warrant, Possess Controlled Substance – San Pablo Ave / Moeser Lane:
At 0111 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 46-year-old man from San Pablo on a no cite Oakland PD warrant. He was found to be in possession of 2.5 grams of methamphetamine and a pipe during a search incident to arrest. He was booked at the ECPD, cited on the new charges, and transported to MDF on the warrant.

October 3rd

Warrant Arrest - Cutting Blvd / Peerless Ave:
At 1652 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 22-year-old woman on a no cite misdemeanor warrant. She was booked and later transported to MDF.

Warrant Arrest / Controlled Substance Possession – San Pablo Ave / Moeser Lane:
At 0111 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 46-year-old San Pablo man on a Oakland PD warrant. He was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and a pipe. He was booked at the ECPD, cited on the new charges, and transported to MDF on the warrant.

Possession of Stolen Property / Warrant Arrest - (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0755 hours, an officer contacted a 27-year-old Martinez man who was riding a rental bicycle from San Francisco and carrying frames and wheels from other bicycles. The officer contacted the rental company who had reported the bicycle as stolen. The suspect initially refused to identify himself, likely because he had four warrants from three counties. He was arrested, booked and transported to the MDF.

Residential Burglary – 700 block of Norvell St:
At 1755 hours, officers responded to the report of a residential burglary. A black male juvenile, approximately 15-16 years old, approximately 5’06” with a thin build and dark clothing tried to kick in the front door of a residence after walking around the front of the residence. A second suspect described as a black male juvenile, 15-16 years old, standing approximately 5’06”, wearing a gray jacket and dark pants stood as a look out. The door kick was unsuccessful and both suspects fled north on Norvell Street.

Vandalism – (Red Onion) 11900 San Pablo Ave:
At 2105 hours, an officer responded to an in-progress auto burglary, later determined to be a vandalism. The unknown suspect broke the front passenger window of the victim’s vehicle and fled. The suspect was described as a black male, grey hoodie and wearing some sort of hat.

Burglary – (EC Honda) 11755 San Pablo Ave:
At 2359 hours, an officer responded to a commercial burglary. Cleaning crews arrived to find the front door shattered with a brick. It did not appear as though anything had been tampered with or stolen. A review of the video surveillance determined an unknown suspect broke the window and then entered the business and stole a cell phone. The suspect appears to be a black female with a slim built and wearing a gray or white sweatsuit.

October 4th

DUI, Suspended License, Cont. Substance Possession – San Pablo Ave / Stockton Ave:
At 0145 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 54-year-old Oakland woman for DUI. She was found to be driving on a suspended license and in possession of suspected cocaine. She was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

Warrant – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2217 hours, an officer responded to an unwanted subject at Safeway and arrested a 38-year-old Richmond man on a no bail Contra Costa County Warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and transported to MDF.

Warrant, Possess Controlled Substance – Cutting Blvd / Peerless Ave:
At 0138 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 52-year-old man from Richmond on a no bail warrant issued by the U.S. Marshall's Office for a weapons violation. A search of man yielded 12 grams of methamphetamine and additional quantity of methamphetamine was located in his vehicle. He was booked at the ECPD and transported to MDF.

October 5th

Burglary – 10000 block of San Pablo Ave:
Officer reports between 10/3/17 at 2200 hours and 10/5/17 at 1005 hours, an unknown suspect pried open the skylight and used a hose to climb down into a business. Once inside, they stole approximately $150 in cash from the cash register. It appears the suspect left out a door on the north side of the business.

Robbery – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2037 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered Safeway and concealed merchandise. The manager confronted the suspect and asked for the property. The suspect threatened to hit the manager if he did not “get out of his face”. The manager refused to move and suspect told the manager not to touch him and the manager then poked the suspect’s shoulder. The suspect punched the manager and fled the store. The manager suffered a small cut on his chin.

Robbery, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Probation Violation – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2220 hours, an officer reports the arrest of a 25-year-old male from Concord. The male entered the business and concealed merchandise in his backpacks. Security confronted the male who then brandished a stun gun and threatened to use it if they tried to stop him. The male fled toward Del Norte BART. Officers arrived and checked station. Officers located the male in the elevator with the property. The male was identified via in-field show up and taken into custody. The male was also in possession of a small amount of a controlled substance. During booking it was discovered that the male was on probation in Contra Costa County for theft. The male was subsequently booked and transported to county jail.

October 6th

Public Intoxication - San Pablo Ave / Wall Ave:
At approximately 1526 hours, an El Cerrito police officer was sent to the area in regard to a homeless subject bothering citizens. The subject was not located and approx. 20 minutes later the citizen called again to say the subject had returned. A 58-year-old homeless male was located and determined to be heavily intoxicated. The male was directly transported to the Martinez Detention Facility, where medical staff requested he be sent to the County Hospital because of his level of intoxication.

Theft, Drug possession, Warrant Arrest – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2211 hours, an officer was sent to the business on a report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, he contacted a 22-year-old Richmond female and determined she had 3 misdemeanor warrants out of Solano County. It was also determined she was in possession of methamphetamine, a pipe, and had committed a theft. A citizen arrest was obtained for the theft. She was sent to county jail.

Drug Possession Arrest – Key Blvd / Knott Ave:
At 2249 hours, an officer conducted a suspicious vehicle check and contacted a 38-year-old San Pablo female. She was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and heroin. She was cited and released.

Drug Possession, Drug Paraphernalia Possession - 5800 block of Cutting Blvd:
At 0124 hours, an officer arrested a 28-year-old Clayton man for possession of cocaine and methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released.

October 7th

False Identification and Warrant Arrest – BART Path / Stockton Ave:
At approximately 0821 hours, El Cerrito police officer's were dispatched to a suspicious male subject pushing a moped on the BART path near Willow Ave. An El Cerrito police officer contacted a 29-year-old male from San Pablo on the BART path with the moped. The male provided a false name to officers and stated an unknown subject told him to push the moped to the stop sign. El Cerrito officers attempted to contact the owner of the moped, who lives in Albany, but there was answer at their door. After providing his real name, officers found that the male had a warrant out of Bowie County Sheriff’s Office in Texarkana, TX for a probation violation, with full extradition. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the County Jail in Martinez.

Theft – (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1054 hours, two suspects entered the store and loaded two duffle bags with approximately $500 worth of cosmetics and fled in a black 4-door sedan towards Peerless Ave. Suspect #1 is described as a black female adult in her 30’s, 5’6”, 180lbs, wearing a black and white floral dress and pink headband. Suspect #2 is described as a black female adult in her 20’s, 5’2”, 90lbs., wearing a light pink dress.

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, Probation Violation Arrest – San Pablo Ave / Potrero Ave:
At 1801 hours, officers were sent to the area on a report of a possible indecent exposure. Upon arrival, they contacted a 41-year-old transient man and determined he under the influence of methamphetamine and in violation of probation. No other crime had occurred. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. He was transported to County Jail.

October 8th

Under the influence of a controlled substance, Warrant Arrest - Location:
At 1957 hours, an officer arrested a 23-year-old transient male for showing symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. He also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant out of Berkeley PD. He was transported to county jail.

Theft – (CVS) 670 EC Plaza:
At 2205 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 54-year-old Berkeley man for theft. He was cited and released.

October 9th

Warrant, Drug Arrest - Central Avenue / Carlson Blvd:
At 1935 hours, an officer initiated a traffic stop and arrested a 51-year-old Kensington male for an outstanding Contra Costa County warrant, possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and driving on a suspended license. He was cited for the drug charges and transported to county jail for the warrant.

Public Intoxication, Delaying a Peace Officer - Bart Path / Hill Street: At 1945 hours, an officer arrested a 50-year-old transient male for walking away from him after trying to detain him for having an open alcoholic container. The officer circled around the BART station following the male, continuing to tell him to stop. The officer eventually caught the male and found the he was heavily intoxicated. He blew a .183 BAC on the PAS and he was transported to county jail.

Warrant Arrest - (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2223 hours, an officer arrested a 20-year-old San Francisco male for 2 outstanding warrants out of SF county and San Mateo County during an unwanted person call. He was transported to county jail.
