Incidents 295 Reports 43

#007 Injury Collision
Units responded to a single vehicle injury collision at Paseo Padre/Ocaso Camino.  During the investigation it was learned that a toddler was believed to be missing from the vehicle. A hasty search for the child began and the child was located unharmed at daycare.  The driver of the vehicle may have suffered a medical emergency leading to the collision.  Case being investigated by Traffic Officer Piol.

#016 Residential Burglary
At 11:06 p.m., officers investigated a residential burglary that occurred at an address in the 42400 block of Palm Ave.  The incident is believed to have occurred between 10!0 a.m. – 10:50 a.m.  Officer Haugh investigating.

#017 Vandalism
At 11:30 a.m., a male jumped in front of a vehicle at Fremont/Thornton and then broke the side view mirror.  Officers located the 23 year old adult male nearby at a restaurant in the area of Thornton and Dusterberry and he was arrested for vandalism.  Case investigated by Officer Kwok.

#021 Stolen Vehicle
Officer Richards ran a license plate on a vehicle in the area of Fremont Blvd and Capitol Av.  The vehicle came back stolen out of Berkeley.  An enforcement stop was attempted, but the driver did not yield and a pursuit was initiated.  One of the passengers jumped out of the vehicle during the pursuit, but he was quickly apprehended by officers.  The pursuit was terminated when the vehicle continued to driver recklessly in the business complexes off Liberty St.  When the pursuit was terminated, the suspect vehicle continued northbound through a parking lot in the area of Capitol/Paseo Padre.  The vehicle drove onto Mowry Ave, where officers saw the vehicle stop in the lane of traffic.  The driver and remaining two passengers ran from the vehicle.  They were last seen running towards the Social Security building at the corner Paseo Padre Pkwy and Mowry Ave.  A perimeter was set up and the three suspects were located and arrested.  Two of the arrestees were male juveniles.  A 15 year old (driver) was arrested for taking a vehicle without permission, evading a police officer and obstructing/resisting.  A 13 year old was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and obstructing/resisting.  A 34 year old adult male was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and a 52 year old male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and obstructing/resisting.  

#029 Unlicensed Driver
At 4:40 p.m., Officer Davis conducted a traffic stop in the area of S. Grimmer and Fremont Blvd.  During the stop, he arrested a 58 year old adult male for being an unlicensed driver.

#036 Residential Burglary
Suspect(s) entered a residence in the 34000 block of Stirrup Way, via a bedroom window.  Loss included expensive watches and jewelry.  Suspect(s) ransacked several other rooms.  The suspect(s) exited through the front door.

#042 DUI Arrest
At 11:46 p.m., Officer Gerber observed a vehicle driving southbound on I680 driving in excess of 80 mph.  Officer Gerber continued to follow the vehicle and observed it swerving over the lane dividers multiple times.  He activated his lights and the vehicle came to a stop on Mission Blvd. after exiting I680.  The driver was contacted and asked if she had been drinking.  After conducting a field sobriety and breathalyzer test, the 25 year old Fremont resident was arrested for DUI. 

#004 Car-Jacking
At 2:17 a.m., officers responded to an armed car-jacking in the area of Fremont Blvd and Delaware Dr.  The victim stopped his vehicle at the crosswalk near Fremont and Delaware to render assistance when he saw a male fall in the middle of the road.  The male then produced a handgun and stole the victim’s vehicle (2011 Black Infinity G37 CA #SLOWG37).  The vehicle was last seen driving southbound on Fremont Blvd. towards Auto Mall Pkwy.  The suspect was described as a white male in his 30’s with a beard wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans.   Investigated by Officer Balcorta and FTO Layfield.

#005 Arson
At 7:01 a.m.., Officers Kwok and Tucker responded to a bank in the 34400 block of Fremont Bl. after receiving information that a male had been starting fires in front of the business during the morning hours before the business opened.  When they arrived, they noticed a male lying on the ground in front of the business.  The person on the ground matched surveillance photographs officers had been given and was wearing similar clothing.  There was a pile of burnt papers nearby.  After conducting their investigation and interviewing the male, the 26 year old was arrested for arson and trespassing. 

#013 Warrant Arrest/Suspicious Vehicle
Workers a business in the 200 block of Francisco Ln called regarding a suspicious vehicle that was parked to the rear of the business preventing them from getting work done.  Officer Tucker and Gourley contacted a 30 year old adult female and 29 year old adult male in the vehicle and cited the male for an outstanding traffic warrant.

#016 Residential Burglary
CSO Schwarts investigated a residential burglary that occurred at an address on Linford Tr.  The house was under construction and the loss was tools and a red fiberglass ladder.  The theft occurred between 1:00 p.m. on Friday and 8:00 a.m. Saturday.  A neighbor saw an older white Econoline style van with some cloth over the driver side window around 7:30 a.m. today that may have been the suspect vehicle.

#017 Commercial Burglary
CSO Romero investigated a commercial burglary at American High School where the new building along Fremont Blvd was broken into.  The suspect(s) stole copper and power cords.

Oktoberfest Street Fair – 2:00 p.m., - 8:00 p.m., approximately 1200 people in attendance. 

#033 Injury collision
A reporting party called 9-1-1 after hearing a collision at the intersection of Mowry Ave and Walnut Ave.  The RP looked outside and saw one car on its side.  Officers responded and located a Toyota SUV lying on the driver’s side.  Preliminary investigation revealed a northbound vehicle entered the intersection on a red light colliding with the Toyota SUV and causing it to flip on to its driver’s side.  Traffic Officer Gregory responded and investigated the collision.  The injuries were not life threatening. 

#033 Health and Safety Code Violation
At 8:34 p.m., a reporting party called 9-1-1 regarding a subject who was in a store, located in the 46800 block of Warm Springs Blvd., taking off his clothes and claiming he had money to buy dinner for all the customers.  Officer Blanchet located the male, later identified as a 23 year old Fresno resident.  He was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and being in possession of drug paraphernalia. 

#001 Public Intoxication Arrest
A 46 year old adult male was found stumbling across Mission Blvd at Nichols Ave.  He was arrested for public intoxication by Officer Balcorta and FTO R. Smith.

#011 Robbery
At 8:23 a.m., dispatch received a 911 call from a business in the 43500 block of Grimmer Blvd. with someone screaming they had just been robbed.  We also received additional calls stating there were two males fighting at the store and one of them was bleeding.  Officer Tatola arrived on the scene and detained the suspect, a 24 year Richmond resident, without incident.  When the dust settled, it was discovered that the suspect came into the store last week and committed a theft.  He returned to the store and was recognized as the suspect from last week.  The store owner told the suspect to pay for whatever items he was purchasing, at which point the suspect grabbed several cigars, other items and began fighting with the owner.  The owner sustained a possible concussion during the fight and the suspect was booked at Santa Rita for robbery.  Documented by Officer Tatola
