Homicide Suspect has been arrested
On Sunday October, 8th at approximately 3:30 pm Washtenaw County Deputies responded to a call of a man who had been shot in the 8000 block of Macarthur Blvd. in Superior Township.
Upon arrival, deputies found that 20 year old Deandre Unique Willingham of Ypsilanti Township had been shot multiple times. Neighbors had already begun to administer aid to Mr. Willingham and deputies on scene took over in an attempt to save his life. Unfortunately, the victim died from his wounds.
During the investigation detectives learned that an altercation had taken place between Mr. Willingham and an unknown male. During the altercation the unknown male pulled a gun, shot Mr. Willingham, and then fled prior to law enforcement arrival. The suspect was later identified as 19 year old James Tremaine Freeman who was from Ann Arbor. Mr. Freeman turned himself in to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office earlier today and is currently being housed in the Washtenaw County Jail. The suspect is expected to be arraigned tomorrow morning.
