The police department continues to receive complaints about a dead tree hanging over Butler Road on Verizon lines just south of Old Mine Road.
Along with the Mount Gretna Fire Department and local residents, the police department has brought this hazard to the attention of Verizon for over a year; their response has been that they will not respond unless the tree brings down their wires.
The safety of motorists traveling along this stretch of Butler Road remains a concern but efforts to have Verizon remove the tree have been futile.
