Full Notification

This morning at 10:14am, Berkeley police received a call reporting a dead body at an encampment on the east side of the BART tracks, just north of 63rd and Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
 
Berkeley Police are conducting a death investigation, and, per the department's normal protocol, patrol and homicide investigators have been on scene. Initial assessment was that the deceased appeared to be in her 20s.  The deceased female has been tentatively identified as a 40 year old.  The Berkeley Police Department will not release her identity pending confirmation by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office and appropriate notification of her family.
