Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for 10/5/2017. 
Good Friday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Thursday, 10/5/2017.
-1800 blk N. Hwy 385, Levelland: Alarm. A deputy responded to a reported alarm at a residence. The residence was checked and found to be secured.
-2000 blk Drillstem, Levelland: Theft. A deputy responded to the area after a complainant reported a theft of a shredder. Information was taken and the matter is under investigation.
-Hwy 385 at Ohio Rd, Whitharral, Loose Livestock. Deputies located several loose cattle near the roadway. The cattle were secured.
-700 blk Maurer, Anton: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence. The disturbance was reported to be verbal and no assaultive offenses were reported, however property damage was reported. The mater is under investigation.
-2100 blk FM 1585, Levelland: 911 Hang Up. A deputy was dispatched to a possible 911 hang up call in the area. Attempts were made to contact the number and no connection was made. The locations were checked and no one was located in the area. No further calls were received.
-6900 blk Elephant Rd, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies were notified of a disturbance at a residence in the area. After meeting with the complainant, it was determined the disturbance was verbal and no offenses were reported.
-Hwy 114 at FM 2378, Smyer: Deputies were dispatched to the area related to a call of a female subject walking along Hwy 114. The area was checked along Hwy 114 to the Lubbock County line and no one was located.
-FM 2130 at E. Ellis, Smyer: Loose Livestock. Deputies responded to a call of loose livestock in the area. The area was checked and all livestock were secured on arrival.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.
Jail population as of 10/6/17 at 0800 hours: 52 in Hockley County, 4 to be processed, 4 out-of-county.
