September 26th

Auto Burglary - 9895 San Pablo Ave:
At 0553 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary and learned that two subjects in a gray sedan broke the window of a Honda and stole a backpack.

Residential Burglary – 7700 block of Terrace Dr:
At 0823 hours, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. In between 1730 hours on 09-25-2017 and 0730 hours on 09-26-2017, an unidentified suspect entered a residence for sale by cutting off the lock box. Once inside, the suspect stole $3,100 worth of tools.

Warrant Arrest - 1700 block of Eastshore Blvd:
At 1423 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted a 27-year-old San Francisco woman who was wanted on a felony Contra Costa County warrant. She was arrested, booked and bailed.

Shoplifting - (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1453 hours, an officer was dispatched to the report of a suspicious person at Safeway. He was reported as selecting meat products and then going into the bathroom. A 49-year-old Oakland man was contacted as he tried to leave the store. Officers recovered four packages of beef brisket hidden in his pants. He was arrested, booked and cited released.

September 27th

Auto Burglary - 9895 San Pablo Ave:
At 0628 hours, an officer responded to the report of two auto burglaries that occurred in the previous five minutes. An unknown suspect broke the window of two vehicles and stole electronics.

Warrant Arrest / Identity Theft - Potrero Ave / I-80:
At 1411 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop on on a vehicle that attempted to evade him. The driver, a 43-year-old Richmond residence, was wanted on two Stanislaus County felony warrants. The passenger, a 39-year-old Richmond man was wanted on a SF County DUI warrant. They were in possession of several credit cards, checks and personal identifying information of other subjects which turned out to be stolen. Both were booked and transported to the MDF.

September 28th

Attempted Robbery - (OK Cleaners) 6109 Potero Ave:
At 1631 hours, Officers responded to the report of a robbery. The suspect, a BMA, 40’s, 6’00”, muscular build, wearing a faded gray or black sweatshirt, dark pants simulated a firearm and demanded cash. His face was covered with a black baklava style mask. The suspect fled on foot.

September 29th

Residential Burglary – 7700 block of Terrace Dr:
At 0630 hours, an unknown suspect entered the residence and staging furniture. A witness saw a male leave the residence and drive away in newer model maroon colored Chevrolet van.

DUI Arrest – Eastshore Blvd / Potrero Ave:
At 1345 hours, an El Cerrito police officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 62-year-old male from Richmond for driving under the influence of alcohol. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest – Blake St / BART Path:
An El Cerrito police officer conducted a 58-year-old transient male and learned he had an warrant out of San Francisco for possession of a controlled substance. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Domestic Violence - 1300 block Liberty St:
At 0132 hours officers were sent to the residence on a report of physical altercation between a husband and wife. Upon arrival it was determined that a 27-year-old El Cerrito man has assaulted his wife. The man was arrested and booked into County Jail.

September 30th

Arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance and a Warrant – (Nations) 6060 Central Ave:
At 0739 hours an El Cerrito police officer contacted a 56-year-old male from Fremont and found that the male had warrants out of Nevada County Sheriff’s for failing to appear in court. During a search, the male was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Arrest for Criminal Threats – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1229 hours, El Cerrito police officers were dispatched to Safeway for an unwanted suspect yelling at employees in the stock room. Officer’s detained a 36-year-old male from Vallejo in front of the store. The male was subsequently placed under citizen’s arrest after he was threatening physical harm to several employees in the store, who feared for their safety. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Traffic Collision - 400 block of Norvell St:
At 1829 hours officers were sent to the residence on a report of a vehicle into a house. Upon arrival it was determined an 81-year-old El Cerrito man had lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a carport and fencing. The man was transported to the hospital as a precaution. No other injuries were reported.

Warrant Arrest - 1900 block of Key Blvd:
At 2127 hours an officer determined a 29-year-old San Pablo had two felony warrants. The man was contacted and was taken into custody without incident. The man was transported to ECPD for processing and subsequently booked into County Jail.

Narcotics Possession - (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 2205 hours an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and contacted a 46-year-old Napa man. The man was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a glass pipe. The man was taken into custody and transported to ECPD for processing and subsequently cite released.

Narcotics Possession - Wall Ave / Kearney St:
At 0241 hours an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and contacted a 32-year-old Napa man. The man was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The man was taken into custody and transported to ECPD for processing. The man was cite released from ECPD.

October 1st

Arrest for Shoplifting and False Identification – (CVS) 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At approximately 1026 hours, officers responded to CVS for a theft that just occurred. Officers detained a 57-year-old male and a 42-year-old female both from Richmond in an adjacent parking lot. They were positively identified during an infield show-up and were in possession of CVS property. The male initially provided his brother’s name. Both suspects were placed under citizen’s arrest, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on citations.
