Sergeant Samuel Gilley is October 2017 "Employee of the Month" for the Jackson Police Department.
Sgt. Gilley has been employed with the Jackson Police Department for twelve years and is assigned as a supervisor in the Patrol Division.
As a supervisor, Sgt. Gilley is firm, fair, and consistent. Sgt. Gilley never asks anything of his officers that he is not willing to do himself. Many of the young officers look-up to him because of his work experience and skills.
Sgt. Gilley has been a part of several divisions within the department. Sgt. Gilley was a member of the Street Crimes Unit, Gang Unit, Narcotics Unit and is currently a sergeant in the Patrol Division. He is very knowledgeable along with being respectful of his job and those positions held by others because of his diverse background within the department.
Sgt. Gilley is a loving and supportive husband to his wife Jade and is also a great father to his four children. He attends Englewood Baptist North Campus, where he volunteers on the Security Team. Sgt. Gilley is also an Alderman with the City of Medina. Whenever, Sgt. Gilley is not spending time with his wonderful family, he enjoys Bass Fishing in order to relax.
