Press Release: Vehicle Pursuit

OFFICERS INVOLVED: Detectives Jesse Orbach, Michael Legg and Detective Sergeant Patrick Martin

ACCUSED: Frank Cooper, 40-year-old Male // Neptune, NJ

NARRATIVE:
On October 2nd, 2017 at approximately at 7:39 pm detectives observed suspicious activity in the area of Sunset Avenue. Shortly after their observations they attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop along Highway 35 south. The accused vehicle failed to obey their warning lights and siren in an effort to elude them. The brief pursuit ended in the area of the Asbury Park traffic circle where the driver later identified as, Frank Cooper was arrested.

Further investigation revealed that Cooper discarded narcotics from his vehicle as police attempted to stop him. He was also found to be in possession of a stolen driver’s license. Cooper was charged with eluding, possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence, loitering with the purpose to obtain drugs and receiving stolen property. He was processed and released on a criminal summons pending a future court appearance.
