One Hurt in Van/Tree Crash





Sheriff Richard Behnke states that deputies of the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a van vs. tree traffic crash on Penn Rd. north of McKenzie St. in Cass County's Volinia township. This crash occurred on 10-3-2017 at approximately 9:30am. Investigation of the crash showed that a van, driven by Anita Hurley (34yrs of Marcellus), was north bound on Penn Rd. when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Ms. Hurley stated she believes she may have fallen asleep. She was injured in the crash and was transported to Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw via LifeCare Ambulance. Ms. Hurley was wearing her seatbelt and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
