September 18th
Stolen Vehicle – 5200 block of Cypress Ave:
At 0849 hours, an officer responded to the report of a stolen silver 1993 Chevrolet truck. The truck was stolen in between 0000 hours and 0830 hours by an unidentified suspect.
Shoplifter – (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1050 hours, Officers noticed a 30-year-old Richmond man shoving items into the front of his pants as he walked out of Walgreens. Walgreens called about him and the below detail a minute later. The subject was stealing dust off aerosol cans. He was contacted at Churches Chicken. He was identified, placed under citizen’s arrest, booked and issued a citation.
Shoplifter – (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1050 hours, Officers responded to the report of a subject causing a disturbance. A 35-year-old El Sobrante woman was contacted as she left. She was found in possession of prescription medications and freshly stolen children’s toys. She was arrested, booked and released on a citation.
Shoplifter - (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1441 hours, an officer observed 46-year-old Antioch man leaving Safeway with a basket full of unpaid merchandise. He was detained and placed under citizen’s arrest. He was booked and released on a citation.
Warrant – Wall Ave / San Pablo Ave:
At 2139 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 17-year-old female from Richmond on a Contra Costa County Warrant for failure to comply with a court order. She was booked at the ECPD and released to her mother.
Residential Burglary – 2300 block Alva Ave:
At 2159 hours, Officers responded to an alarm activation and found the house unlocked and positioned to be removed from the house. It appears the thief was scared off before the property could be loaded up.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered – 11965 San Pablo Ave:
At 0038 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2001 Chevy S-10 driven by 34-year-old female from San Pablo. A records check on the VIN revealed it was reported stolen to Emeryville PD on 9/18/17. The driver was arrested, booked at ECPD, and transported to MDF.
September 19th
Shoplifting – (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 0937 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft of a bottle of wine. The suspect, a 55-year-old Oakland woman was found spotted jaywalking and contacted by an officer at the Del Norte BART station. The manager at Walgreens refused to prosecute, so the suspect was issued a citation for jaywalking and released. The wine bottle was recovered and returned to the store.
Shoplifting, Controlled Substance Possession, Burglary tools - 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 1004 hours, Officers responded to the report of a suspicious person at CVS getting ready to shoplift and loading their back pack with property. The suspect, a 30-year-old Pinole man fled on a bicycle but was stopped by an officer on the BART path behind 6500 Donal Ave. He was identified and placed under citizen’s arrest. The stolen property was recovered as well as suspected methamphetamine and a security sensor remover. He was booked and released on a citation.
Auto Burglary – (Peet’s Coffee) 9895 San Pablo Ave:
At 1015 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. An unidentified suspect broke the window of a Toyota van and stole a lap-top. The burglary occurred between 1010 – 1015 hours.
Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave / El Dorado St:
At 1126 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop. He contacted the driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old Oakland man, who was on parole for robbery. The passenger, a 26-year-old Oakland man initially lied about his name but was discovered to have a No Bail Federal ATF firearm possession warrant. He was booked and transported to the MDF.
Shoplifter - (Big 5) 11060 San Pablo Ave:
At 1434 hours, an officer responded to the report of a grab and run at Big 5. Three suspects stole Nike sweatshirts and Under Armor sweatshirts. The suspects were described as three black males, approx. 5’10”, 17-20 years old, medium builds. They fled to a gold sedan.
Warrant Arrest - Central Ave / San Pablo Ave:
At 1552 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted a 23-year-old Oakland woman. She had a felony warrant for welfare fraud for her arrest. She was arrested, booked and bailed out.
Warrant – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1847 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 57-year-old Richmond man on a no bail Contra Costa County warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to MDF.
Warrant – (Atlas Liquor) 11382 San Pablo Ave:
At 2351 hours, An Officer responded to an unwanted subject and contacted a 53-year-old man from San Pablo and arrested him on a Contra Costa County warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to MDF.
Robbery, False Personation, Warrant (X5) – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2357 hours, Officers Hernandez responded to a theft at Safeway. The suspect stole items and then assaulted the security guard as he fled. The 33-year-old male suspect was located at Del Norte BART and positively identified as the suspect. Approximately $220 in merchandise was recovered. The suspect initially identified himself as his cousin but his true identity was discovered and then confirmed via fingerprints. A records check revealed he was also wanted on five warrants, three from San Francisco and two from Colma. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to MDF.
September 20th
Methamphetamine Possession – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0849 an officer contacted a suspicious subject in the Safeway lot. A 24-year-old San Pablo man was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and a pipe. He was arrested, booked and released on a citation.
Publix Intoxication - Stockton Ave / BART Path:
At 1022 hours, an officer contacted five loiterers on the benches along the BART path sharing a bottle of Vodka. A 32-year-old Richmond man was found to be intoxicated (0.3 BAC.) He was arrested and transported to the MDF.
Auto Burglary - 9901 San Pablo Ave:
At 1049 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. At approximately 1034 hours, a BMA, 20’s wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, ripped blue jeans broke the window of a rental car and stole at laptop. He fled in a silver sedan.
Felon in possession of a handgun, Child Endangerment, False Identity to a PO, Warrant Arrest - 11555 San Pablo Ave:
At 1221 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. Immediately the driver, a 26-year-old Richmond woman and passenger, a 30-year-old Richmond man, exited the vehicle and had to be ordered back into the car. A one-year-old child and four-year-old child were in the vehicle. The Richmond man had a felony warrant for his arrest. The Richmond woman provided a false name and was an unlicensed driver. A loaded concealed firearm were located in the vehicle in an area where the child could have accessed it. Both subjects were arrested, booked and transported to the MDF.
Warrant – ECPD, 10900 San Pablo Ave:
At 1803 hours, a 40-year-old female from Hayward was found to also be wanted on a no cite Contra Costa County Warrant after she came to the ECPD on an unrelated matter. She was booked and then transported to MDF.
Shoplift – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2055 hours, a black male suspect in his 30s, about 6-00 tall and thin, and wearing a white plaid shirt and blue basketball shorts stole six fruit trays and fled on a bicycle westbound.
Shoplift – (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 2340 hours, Officers responded to a theft and located the 50-year-old male suspect near Eastshore Blvd and San Pablo Ave and detained him. He was positively identified as the suspect during an in-field show-up and placed under citizen arrest. He was booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.
Shoplift – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0007 hours, Officers responded to a theft. The 33-year-old male suspect from Vallejo was located at Del Norte BART and detained. The man was positively identified as the suspect during an in-field show-up and placed under citizen arrest. He was booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.
September 21st
Shoplifting - (CVS) 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 0850 hours, Officers responded to the report of a shoplifting that just occurred. The suspect vehicle left north on San Pablo Ave. The vehicle was stopped at San Pablo Ave. and Madison Ave. The right rear passenger and suspect, 38-year-old man shoved numerous makeup items under the front seats. During a pat-down several more items fell out of his pants. He was also in possession of razor blades and anti-theft sensor removing magnet. He was identified, placed under citizen’s arrest. The suspect was on probation for theft with a stay away from drug stores. He was transported to the MDF.
Shoplifting – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1000 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifting that just occurred. An unidentified suspect, described as a black male, 40’s, 5’08” and 170 lbs, wearing a Warriors cap, gold Raybans, black shorts stole approx. $151 in porterhouse steaks. The manager was able to keep the suspect from riding away on his bicycle. He fled southbound on foot.
Shoplifting - (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1008 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifting. Unsatisfied with his take from Safeway, the same suspect made his way to Walgreens, changed into a white tee-shirt, took off the hat and stole over $400 in cosmetics. He fled south behind Dollar Tree.
Shoplifting – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1803 hours, an officer was conducting a security check when staff alerted him to a 30-year-old female from San Francisco who consumed food which had not been paid for. She also had over $80 in unpaid food in three grocery bags. She was placed under citizen arrest, booked at the ECPD, and released on a citation.
Shoplifting – (Lucky) 1000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 2105 hours, a suspect stole $89 in merchandise and fled the store and was last seen northbound on the BART Path. The suspect was identified as a 38-year-old man from Oakland from a previous shoplifting arrest on 9/2/17 at Lucky.
Shoplifting – (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 2106 hours, an officer was conducting a security check at Safeway when a 21-year-old man form San Francisco tried to exit the store with merchandise concealed on his person. He was stopped by loss prevention and the merchandise recovered. Loss prevention did not want to file a report and the man was released. The man walked directly over to Walgreens where stole merchandise and left the store without paying. The same officer happened to be outside the store conducting extra patrol when the man exited. The man was placed under citizen arrest and placed in the back of the patrol car where he started to kick the inside of the car and yell uncontrollably. Given his uncontrolled demeanor and the likelihood the thefts would continue, he was transported directly to and booked into MDF.
Shoplifting – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2200 hours, a black male, 20s, about, 5-06, 140, and wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a do-rag and a carrying large hiking style backpack concealed several bottle of wine in his backpack and left without paying.
Warrant (X2) – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2336 hours, an officer conducted a security check at Safeway and contacted a 55-year-old female from Richmond. She was wanted on two Kings County warrants. She was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and released on a citation.
September 22rd
Warrant arrest, Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of drug paraphernalia – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
An officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 54-year-old transient man for an outstanding warrant. A search revealed the man was in possession of methamphetamine and two pipes. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.
Attempted grand theft – 10422 San Pablo Ave:
An officer reports that the victim was approached by an unknown suspect in the parking lot of a business. The suspect stated he had money that he needed to deposit into a bank account but could not do it himself because he was not a citizen. The victim drove the man to Bank of America in El Cerrito, went in to the business, and got a loan for several thousand dollars. The man returned to the vehicle and told the suspect. Not going to get cash right away, the suspect fled on foot. The suspect is described as a black male adult.
Warrant Arrest - 11940 San Pablo Ave. (A New Concept Laundromat):
At 0111 hours an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and contacted a 34-year-old Richmond man. It was determined the man had a felony warrant. The man was booked into County Jail.
Warrant Arrest - Cypress Ave / S.53rd St:
At 0333 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted a 47-year-old Alameda man. It was determined the man had a felony warrant. The man was booked into County Jail.
September 23rd
Battery – 11344 San Pablo Ave:
A customer became upset with a server at the restaurant when the customer’s credit card was declined. The server sprayed the customer with pepper spray. The case was forwarded to the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office.
Grand theft – 210 EC Plaza:
An officer reports that the victim posted a diamond engagement ring for sale on Craigslist. She agreed to meet with the suspect at Plaza Jewelers to have the ring appraised. The storeowner placed the ring on the counter to talk to the two parties about appraisal. The suspect picked up the ring and fled the business on foot. The suspect is described as a black male adult in his 30’s, 5/11, light complexion, wearing gray pants and a white dress shirt.
Shoplifting - 11650 San Pablo Ave (CVS):
At 1922 hours officers were sent to a theft that had just occurred. Responding officers located the suspect, a 28-year-old Oakland woman, walking in the 10800 blk. of San Pablo Ave. The woman was positively identified as the suspect and placed under citizen arrest. The woman was transported to ECPD for processing and released on a citation.
Shoplifting/Narcotics Possession - 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 2109 hours officers were sent to a reported theft that had just occurred. Responding officers located the suspect, a 20-year-old San Francisco man, at the Del Norte BART station. The man was positively identified as the suspect and placed under citizen arrest. The man was also found to be in possession of heroin. The man was transported to ECPD for processing and released on a citation.
DUI / Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave / Panama Ave:
At 0047 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 29-year-old Richmond man. It was determined the driver had a misdemeanor warrant for DUI and was on DUI probation. It was further determined the driver was also DUI. The passenger in the vehicle, a 31-year-old San Pablo man, was also determined to have a misdemeanor warrant for DUI. Both men were transported to ECPD for processing and then booked into County Jail.
Possession of a handgun - Potrero Ave / S.56th St:
At 0134 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 20-year-old Richmond man and a juvenile passenger. It was determined the driver did not have a driver license. During the course of the investigation the juvenile passenger was contacted and determined to be in possession of a loaded and concealed firearm on his person. The juvenile was arrested and transported to Juvenile Hall.
September 24th
Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave / Ohio Ave:
At 1806 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 38-year-old Sacramento man. It was determined the man had two misdemeanor warrants out of Solano County. The man was transported to ECPD for processing and then booked into County Jail.
Possession of a handgun - San Pablo Ave / Plumas Ave:
At 0023 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. The driver and sole occupant, a 55-year-old San Francisco man, was contacted and provided a false name. During the investigation it was determined the man was in possession of a loaded and concealed firearm. The man was transported to ECPD for processing and then booked into County Jail.
September 25th
Shoplift – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave.
An officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 41-year-old Richmond woman after she stole laundry detergent. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.
Petty Theft, Under the Influence, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia-(Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2043 hours, ECPD officers were dispatched to a possible man with a gun call at Safeway. The RP advised the subject appeared to be carrying a rifle wrapped in a black sweater which had a blackish gray barrel at one end. Officers arrived on scene and detained a 27-year-old Stockton male. The subject was found carrying a set of bolt cutters which he wrapped in his black hooded sweater and he used black electrical tape to tighten the sweater to the bolt cutters. The black sweater wrapped around the bolt cutters gave it the shape and appearance of a rifle. The subject had just stolen from Safeway and was found in possession of a methamphetamine pipe. He was also under the influence of a controlled substance. He was sent to county jail.
