September 12th
Auto Burglary - (Nations) 6060 Central Ave:
At 0620 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary that just occurred. An unidentified suspect broke a passenger window and stole a back pack containing check books, house keys and cell phones.
Disorderly Conduct - Blake St / San Pablo Ave:
At 1031 hours, Officer Major contacted a 57-year-old man loitering on the stairs drinking Vodka. He was heavily intoxicated and provided a false name. He then tried to walk away and had to be physically restrained. He was arrested, booked and transported to the MDF.
Shoplifting, Possess Stolen Property, Dangerous Weapon –
(Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1735 hours, an Officer responded to a theft at Walgreens and spotted the suspects on Potrero Ave and S. 55th Street as he responded. He detained the two suspects, a 23-year-old female form Rodeo and a 22-year-old female from Pittsburg. One was found to be in possession metal knuckles and five access cards belonging to other people. Both were identified as theft suspects during an in-field show-up. They were arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then released on citations.
Warrant – 10800 block San Pablo Ave:
At 0221 hours, an Officer investigated a suspicious vehicle and arrested a 26-year-old man from Hercules on a felony Contra Costa County Warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to MDF.
September 13th
Shoplifter - 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 0842 hours, officers responded to the report of a theft that just occurred. An officer located the suspect vehicle on Tehama Ave. A passenger in the vehicle, a 24-year-old Richmond woman was identified as the suspect. She was placed under citizen’a arrest, booked and released on a citation. The driver of the suspect vehicle was driving on a suspended license. She was issued a citation and her vehicle towed.
Warrant – 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 0018 hours, an Officer investigated a suspicious vehicle and arrested a 58-year-old man from Richmond on a no cite Contra Costa County warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to MDF.
September 14th
Garage Burglary – 2600 blk of Tamalpias Dr:
At 0848 hours, an officer responded to the report of a garage burglary. In between 2100 hours on 09-13-17 and 0715 hours on 09-14-2017, an unidentified suspect forced open the door and stole tools.
Grand Theft - 2400 block of Tulare Ave:
At 0930 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft. The victim was tricked into making $4100 in money transfers.
Commercial Burglary - 10546 San Pablo Ave:
At 11:05 hours, an officer responded to the report of a commercial burglary. It appears that an unidentified suspect entered the business at 0516 hours and stole property.
Disorderly Conduct - Manila Ave / Scott Ave:
At 1339 hours, an officer responded to the report of a suspicious person. He contacted a 49-year-old transient who was found to be intoxicated. He was direct transported to the MDF.
Shoplifter – (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1420 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifting that had just occurred. A black male, approx. 55-years-old, bald and wearing a blue shirt and riding a black mountain bike with stole a basket full of deodorant items.
Residential Burglary - 1600 block of Lexington Ave .
At 1609 hours, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. In between 0400 and 1500 hours, an unidentified suspect forced open the bathroom window. Once inside, (S) stole a laptop and prescription medicine.
Shoplifter - 11319 San Pablo Ave:
At 1700 hours, Officers responded to a hold up alarm at Chevron. The clerk pushed the alarm when a 32-year-old Richmond woman came behind the counter and stole a pack of Newports. She was taken into custody a block away. She was booked and transported to the MDF.
Robbery, Burglary – 11700 block San Pablo Ave:
At 2050 hours, Officers responded to a home invasion robbery. The unknown suspect entered the residence while the victim was sleeping in one of the bedrooms. The suspect rifled through the apartment and then entered the room where the victim was sleeping. The victim awoke and the suspect brandished a knife and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot. The suspect was described as a Middle Eastern male in his 30s or 40s, 6 feet tall, and wearing dark clothing, black running shoes, white gardening gloves, and a mask.
September 15th
Shoplifting, Warrant arrest – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0720 hours, while investigating a separate theft, a 31-year-old Oakland man ran out of the northeast doors of Safeway with a case of Red bull. An officer detained the man and he was found to have a warrant for his arrest. The business also placed the man under citizen’s arrest. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Shoplifting, Probation Violation, Alteration of imitation firearm – (Walgreen’s) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 0940 hours, officers were dispatched for a shoplifting that just occurred. The reporting party stated that the suspect may have a weapon in his pocket. Officers located the 39-year-old transient man on San Pablo Ave at Eastshore Blvd. He was detained and found to have a replica firearm in his waistband with the orange safety tip removed. The man is currently on probation and was also placed under citizen’s arrest by store management. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Shoplift – (CVS) 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 1441 hours, officers were dispatched to a theft that just occurred. The two male suspects were last seen walking northbound through the parking lot. An officer detained a 21-year-old San Francisco man, and a 26-year-old Fairfield man. Both were positively identified by store employees. The 21-year-old man had property in his possession but the 26-year-old man did not. The 21-year-old man was cited for shoplifting and both were released.
DUI/Child Endangerment – San Pablo Ave / Portola Dr:
At 1912 hours, Albany PD called and reported a possible DUI driver who just left Albany with a child in the vehicle. An El Cerrito Officer located the vehicle, conducted a traffic enforcement stop, and arrested a 42-year-old El Dorado Hills woman for DUI. Her 2 ½ year old child was in the car with her at the time of the arrest and the child was released to her father.
September 16th
Commercial burglary – (Strings) 11720 San Pablo Ave:
Between 2300 hours on the 15th and 1000 hours on the 16th, an uknown suspect entered the business through an exit door stole the cash register, a safe, and a computer.
Prowling - 1200 Block Richmond St:
At 1759 hours Officers were sent to a residence on a report of a suspicious subject who was ringing the doorbell to the residence, looking in windows and walking around the front and sides of the residence. A 25-year-old Richmond man was contacted a short distance away from the residence by responding officers. It was determined that after the suspect rang the door bell and looked into the windows in the front and sides of the residence; he jumped the fence into the victims backyard. The victim confronted the suspect and he immediately jumped back over the fence and walked away. The man was positively identified and placed under arrest. The man was booked into County Jail.
Warrant Arrest - 11565 San Pablo Ave (Walgreens):
At 1854 hours an officer was sent to the business on a report of a suspicious subject who was placing items in her purse. Upon arrival a 28-year-old San Francisco woman was contacted and it was determined she had two felony warrants and one misdemeanor warrant. The woman was booked into County Jail.
Warrant Arrest - Key Blvd / Cutting Blvd:
At 2150 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 55-year-old Richmond woman, and determined she had a felony warrant out of Santa Clara County. The woman was booked into County Jail.
Narcotics Possession/Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave / Wall Ave:
At 0103 hours an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and contacted a 27-year-old Richmond woman. It was determined the woman was in possession of methamphetamine and had a misdemeanor warrant out of Berkeley. The woman was transported to ECPD for processing and cite released.
September 17th
Auto burglary – 670 El Cerrito Plaza
Between 1258 hours and 1302 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole a backpack.
Residential burglary – 2500 block of Nason Ave.
Between 1900 hours on the 16th and 1300 hours on the 17th, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence with the real estate agent key and stole staged furniture.
Stolen Vehicle Recovery - San Pablo Avenue / Manila Avenue:
At 1939 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a scooter that did not have a license plate. A VIN check showed the scooter was stolen out of Berkeley PD. The driver was arrested.
