Subject: Bank Robbery

On Wednesday September 27 at 4:30 PM., the Sun Prairie Police Department responded to the Bank of Sun Prairie, 695 S. Grand Ave., for a robbery. The suspect entered the bank lobby, passed a note demanding money, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect did not display a weapon and no employees were injured.

Responding officers received information that the suspect remained in the immediate vicinity, including that he entered the Aldi Grocery Store at 750 Bunny Trail. A perimeter was established and a search conducted. The Dane County Sherriff’s Office and a Town of Madison K-9 unit assisted with the search.

At the conclusion of the search, new information revealed that the suspect was most likely no longer in the immediate area. The Sun Prairie Police Department, with the help of other law enforcement agencies, is actively pursuing a significant lead as to the suspect’s whereabouts.

The suspect is:
Alex Melton
Male, white, 5’08, 170 lbs.
Multiple facial tattoos and a neck tattoo of a flower. Believed to be on foot in the WI Dells/Lake Delton area.
