Traffic stop leads to the arrest of three.

On September 26, 2017, at 11:48 p.m. Deputy Loren Barchett conducted a traffic stop on a Red 2010 Dodge Calibre on US 41 near County Road CR 400 South for speeding. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Barchett detected the odor of burnt Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. At that point a roadside investigation was conducted. At the end of the investigation the driver 21 year old John C. Dones of Evansville, and two passengers of the vehicle were taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. 21 year old Daniel Kaplan of Evansville was charged with Possession of Marijuana and remains in custody on a $550 bond. 18 year old Ricky Lane of Vincennes was also charged with Possession of Marijuana and also faces a charge of Possession of Paraphernalia. He has since posted a $550 bond.

John Dones of Evansville was charged by Deputy Ben Kiesel with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. He has since posted a $450 bond.

Assisting Deputy Barchett in his investigation was Deputy Ben Kiesel and Princeton Police Officer Chelsey Jones.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
