(Etowah County, AL) A Boaz teenager has been arrested and charged in connection to a recent homicide, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

19 year-old Ty Jordan Kirkland, of Boaz (Marshall Co.), was arrested on Tuesday, September 26th, and charged with one count of murder, a felony. He is being held on $100,000 cash bond.

Kirkland allegedly shot 42 year-old Kevin Charles Jones after a verbal confrontation at the residence. The shooting occurred at approximately 6:39 p.m. Monday, September 25th, at 689 Sunset Trail, Boaz. The victim passed away hours later at a Birmingham hospital.

An autopsy will be performed on the victim’s body.
